The catch is that the CHANGE in US production has to be noticable when compared to the TOTAL world production.

And, that's just not going to happen.

hint, no one is forcing US oil companies to raise prices on Americans due to a shortage in other countries

the greedy US oil companies choose to do that themselves

maybe the government should be the only ones allowed to drill on federal land, then they sell it to Americans at a lower price - any profit can go to pay off the debt

You’re advocating for communism. Are you being for real? And no oil company is raising prices. The supply is dictating the price not oil workers. If Biden would open more drilling it would go down

Gas prices are high enough as they are.

That's true in theory, but it is not going to happen in practice.

The US isn't going to produce enough additional oil to affect the world market price, primarily because it would require a volume of new oil that is significant compared to the total world oil production. Oil companies are not motivated to do that even if they could. For one thing, there isn't that much oil within reach of drilling at a reasonable cost of investment.

    Bush had 8 years.

And, I was responding to Republican idiots who thought Obama should have fixed the economic disaster they failed to address - and do that within a few months.

Then you seemed doubtful that Obama became president mid January 2009.

    They Want You to Suffer.

"That’s the President of the United States calling the $5.00 a gallon gasoline that is crushing Americans an “incredible transition.” And lest anyone think I’m misreading him, he means it exactly as it sounds and says as much by citing that we’ll become “less reliant” on fossil fuels in the end."

"This is all intentional. Biden and his handlers saw an opportunity to destroy the energy market and have done everything in their power to make that a reality. The most recent example came after the administration canceled more oil and gas leases that could have helped relieve price pressures long-term."

"We’ve moved past the point of simple political disagreement and into the realm of purposeful sabotage in order to obtain a delusional partisan goal. They aren’t even hiding the ball anymore. These people want you to suffer."

Ouch: Ron Klain’s 2021 tweet bragging about gas prices soon ‘tumbling below $3’ makes new brutally hilarious rounds on Twitter.

Congress didn't let Obama do what he wanted to do - not uncommon for any president.

But, US manufacturing returned to full output within a few short months of his presidency.

However, manufacturing had worked on ways to produce with FAR fewer employees. You can see that in any analysis. And, this wasn't limited to corporate reaction in other sectors.

The difficulty was that there were far fewer jobs and people had no money. That's not a situation where economies grow rapidly. You can't start a business when your potential customers are broke.

So, there was tons of money for business expansion, but no justification for expansion.

All the moron had to do was follow thru on his great plan to rebuild roads, bridges and infrastructure and he'd made a huge impact! But the idiot pissed away a trillion on what?

No one to this day has really figured it out, not even you LOLOL

How is it possible that much money (a trillion) could disappear and no one at all can figure out where it went? No one can account for a trillion? No one at all? Sorry but I find that hard to believe. And I’m not saying you’re lying. I believe you believe a trillion could somehow be squandered without any of it being accounted for. I just simply find it hard to believe that much money could disappear without a trace.
And no I have no idea but then again I don’t keep tabs on every penny the govt spends.

I remember back 1973 people topped off their tanks so they always be filled up, it may be an old suggestion but I don't know if that will work

Republicans have ALWAYS strongly opposed that level of infrastructure development.

We've seen that recently, where Republicans worked long and hard to block infrastructure spending.

We've seen that under Trump where he refused to back infrastructure spending - declaring it to be a state issue, though states do not have the legal capability of that level of investment, plus much of the needed infrastructure work needs to be toward a US wide plan - something no state can effectively create.

I remember that. But, the issue then was shortage of fuel. People like me topped off when we found short lines at the pump, hoping to last until more volume was available - or such time we could again find a station without those long lines.

I agree it's probably not a useful strategy today.
