Everybody thinks taxes will only rise for the rich. They don't understand... Everyone wants government to spend more. But no one wants to pay higher taxes. A lot of voters don't seem to be able to see how the two are connected. You could seize all the money from the super duper rich and it would barely put a dent in the national debt. When they talk about "the rich" they're actually talking about people with less money than you think... doctors, lawyers, medium-sized business owners.
Teachers unions want more money, women want free abortions, and transvestites want free sex change surgeries if they join the military. They also promise to solve all our problems by throwing money at it and passing more rules. (Notice how "education is the solution to everything", a convenient excuse to send more money to colleges. Look at who's really benefiting. Some of these upper level administrators are almost a privileged caste)
