Genuine question, if Joe Biden was to be removed for mental instability how would that work?

How would you go about? Who could initiate it? What would be the criteria? Could he challenge it?

The first section of the 25th amendment provides an avenue for the temporary removal of a President. This situation has usually come into play when a President knows that they will be undergoing surgery and they will be temporarily incapacitated. In this situation, the President and a majority of the Cabinet will send a letter to the president pro tempore of the Senate and the speaker of the house that states the President will temporarily be unable to perform his or her duties. Once the President is no longer incapacitated, they will send a second letter to Congress stating that they are capable of performing their duties again.

The last section of the amendment provides the Vice President and the Cabinet with an option for permanently removing a president from office. The first step involves the Vice President and a majority of the members of the cabinet sending a letter to the president pro tempore of the Senate and the speaker of the house stating that the President is unable to complete his or her duties. Since the process was begun by the Vice President and the Cabinet, the President is temporarily stripped of his powers of office and the vice president would become the acting president once Congress receives the letter.

The President still has the option of sending his or her own letter to Congress saying that they can perform their duties, which would reinstate their powers of office unless the vice president and the cabinet send another letter reasserting their initial claims. Once the first letter is received Congress is required to convene within 48 hours and to vote within 21 days. If two-thirds of both houses of Congress vote to agree with the assertions in the letter, the President will permanently be stripped of his or her powers of office.

Hollywood has depicted the 25th in shows like the West Wing and Designated Survivor, but in reality, the amendment has only been used a handful of times. Examples include the vice president vacancy under President Nixon and when Presidents Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush underwent medical procedures. The last section of the amendment which provides an avenue for permanent removal has never been used.

Joe Biden has a stammer, like a substantial percentage of the entire population does. He doesn't ramble, he doesn't make funny sounds or trail off into nonsense phrases or use words that a 6 year old would be embarrassed by. If you think that Joe Biden is in any way mentally incapacitated to be President you need to get YOUR head examined.

If you seriously don't at least question his cognitive fitness after watching this vid, then perhaps it's your head that isn't screwed on right. At the very least signs of senility is evident.

Except, the reason for Biden's removal would not be political.

None of us ever claimed that Biden was a genius and picking apart his speech impediment is exactly why there are laws to protect against discrimination against people with disabilities. Our society is so toxic that has to be mandated. /smdh

Further, their Orange Lord made gaffes and mistakes. It's called being human. Outside his pathological lying, I and many of us on this side have never picked him apart over it. He was "checked out" his whole time in office. Hell, he ignored COVID and campaigned in all of 2020 and ever since. If he couldn't or wouldn't be 25th, there is not a living soul on this planet that should be. Just like if he doesn't get convicted and go to prison, NOBODY should be in prison.

They need to stop applying their double standards based on people they like and don't like while pretending those of us that don't do that are the hateful ones.

You'd have to get the higher ups of the Dem Party on board first. Then get the Senate to vote on it with Kamala being the tie breaker if needed.

I'm not sure the US/World can risk waiting another 2 years.

With the best will in the world, even if Joe was a candidate I'd voted for I'd think he wasn't up to the job

Yeah, he had some crazy ideas and often said stupid things but he just didn't come across as doddery as Biden does. As for Trump going to prison, he actually has to be guilty of something (unless you're some sort of fascist?)

If you think that, then you are excusing Biden's severe mental decline.

You do realize that he's not alone; and nothing would change.

Pedo-Joe is the quintessential example of one of the many inmates running that "insane asylum" called Washington D.C.

Two years aren't required. We will have congressional gridlock after the election. Biden will have nothing other than executive orders about which he can fight with the judiciary. I love gridlock. It fixes so many problems.

Problem is if they got rid of Trump Pence would have been an improvement. I can't be sure about Harris.

How we can ensure this never happens again is to impose age limits on ALL elected officials.
