    Not very convincing.
There are a bit more than 3 mill. people of Turkish origin living in Germany, 3 mill out of 82 mill.
You should have mentioned the Russians, they outnumber the Turks these days.

Germany, like much of western Europe, has rejected the Anglo-Saxon model of the economy and of society. That's a hugely smart move. The UK is going down the toilet fast thanks to its adherence to outdated and discredited economic tactics and its class-ridden society.

Germany's education system is excellent, its integration is a model for everyone else. A long time ago Germany discarded the low-skill vocational model and went for the high-skilled model. The result is that in Anglo-Saxon countries that kept the low-skill model jobs went offshore and unemployment soared. Not so in Germany, it is able to produce high quality goods which are in demand as exports.

On top of that it's a great country to visit and I found people everywhere very friendly to foreign tourists.

    And then there's the beer.....

I have grown a vivid desire to visit Germany for the first time, soon. I am not a beer drinker, but I enjoy a good company.

Which cities and streets would you recommend, and most importantly which corners, to impregnate myself durably, mate?

Not quite sure why you, living in Italy, should be concerned about the German population and the roughly 4% Turks living there.

Im pretty sure this is about Germany being an admired model, i gave my opinion. If you dont like it then its your problem, not mine.
I would never have a country with such high number of turks as a model for anything other than on how not to do things in regards of immigration.

He has experienced first hand what immigration has done to France.
Whenever the Squadra Azzura beats Les Bleus they now celebrate it as a national holiday.
See how a single Mesut Özil on the field improves the overall solidity of the Nationalmannschaft. Imagine ten!

I guess I'll have to get used to the racism here.
It seems you didn't read closely enough. I haven't said anything about not liking your opinion.
However, I still find your concern almost laughable.
    - 4% is anything but a "high number"
    - you reduce a country to its immigration policies and its "high number"
(3 mill out of 82mill...hello!) of Turkish immigrants, that's pretty superficial
    - it's clear you don't like Turks.

I obviously dont like turks, they dont belong in Europe.

4% is a huge number when its made of people of a total different culture than the home country, if it was 4% of austrians or dutch or dannish, etc it wouldnt matter but 4% of turks is incredibly high. Even more when turks love to have many babies, that number will just get higher with time.

And no, im not racist, i just dont like to mix cultures. Just like i wouldnt like it if Turkey had 4% of germans or italians, we also dont belong there.

Turks, Belgians, Germans -- doesn't really matter.

The problem with our immigrants we do receive is that they are, to put is simply, the crappy ones, e.g. Turks from somewhere up in the mountains, Kosovars who aren't used to live in a modern environment, etc. :twocents:

For the last couple of years, I've witnessed this on the bus I take to the city.

When I get on the bus, it comes from the suburbs (well, actually it all is an urban area, but I mean: families with two incomes, nice house, car on the driveway, dog, etc.) and all the people on the bus are "mannered people" no matter what their ethnicity or cultural background (be it North Africans, Africans, Eastern European, etc.). When I'm on the bus for about 15 minutes getting nearer to the city, all the unmannered folk get on the bus. They stink, are very loud, and their children are very unmannered -- but the parents don't seem to care either... they mostly look as they are from the Caucasus and South Eastern Europe (Bosnia, Kosovo ~ gypsy like).

I remember only 5 years ago, this wasn't the case. :twocents:

Just my personal experience. No problems with Turks or something. Although I need to say that everytime I've witnessed "violence" (verbal or physical) it are (1) older, drunk, Belgian men and (2) North-African or Turkish folks. In about 75% it are the latter.

75% are the latter... and yet they ammount a small % of population, imagine if they were more (like they will be in years to come due to their birth rate and the non stop immigration).

That tricky correlation between race and income and one's "manners."

It is not a big secret that -- in general -- poor people have less manners.

Sure, there are rich people who haven't any manners as well, but way more poor folks have worse manners, e.g. chewing gum, spitting on the ground, blowing smoke in someone's face, not standing up at the bus to let an old person sit,...

BTW -- who's talking about race? Nobody. It's all about background, upbringing and socio-economic situation though.

My point is that in many countries certain minorites are much more likely to be underprivledged. As you say, "poor" people tend to be rougher around the edges and without as much refinement for a variety of reasons. Many people thus associate this lack of refinement as a race issue instead of a socioeconomic one.

My University is a perfect example. At least half of the population is made up of mostly affluent white suburban kids. These kids went to good schools in the suburbs where there were very few minorities. The few minorities that were in these kid's schools were as affluent as their white peers with the same "refinements", and thus blended seamlessly. They trully are racially blind; every minority they grew up with dressed the same, spoke the same, and acted the same as them.

These kids then show up to University in the heart of a major city close to subsidized housing (read projects). The housing is probably 75% black with the the rest being Puerto Rican. All of a sudden they're seeing these "project people" who are almost exclusively minorities swearing, yelling, fighting, dressing poorly etc. loitering around corners and even the mass transit station on campus. Probably 90% of all crime (not counting underage drinking/marjuana) is committed by people from the projects nextdoor. There's a particularly large group of 15-18 year old Blacks that hang around campus constantly, for whatever reason. At least a dozen times a week these youths will snatch Iphones/Laptops/Backpacks from mostly young college girls and run away. The campus Police issues trespassing notices to many of them, but it's difficult to enforce on such a large campus. Also, several times a semester someone from the projects will actually pull a knife on a student or some other weapon and rob them. The crimminals from the projects know that most of the college kids have expensive stuff and won't put up any kind of fight (girls/small guys). I'm not just assuming that the crimminals are from the projects, I read the Police beat every week which lists the crime and addresses of the perpetrators.

After seeing all this, many of the white suburban kids suddenly become quite uncomfortable around the minorites in the area. Their entire view on race relations is altered a bit. This becomes almost unconcious. My school is very liberal and even staged it's own occupy movement.....it's the last place in the world that would trully be "racist." What these kids are experiencing is the importance of socio-economic status. It isn't so much that these kids haven't spent time around black/hispanics, it's that they haven't spent time around poor people. In most large cities in America the majority of the poor are black or hispanic. Most poor whites live in rural areas. Being a bit older and having traveled extensively and lived in a variety of places,I can't help but laugh. I know that living in bumF Georgia would probably result in a similar level of crime and crudeness, but from a 100% white demographic.

The most awkward people in this whole situation are the black/minority kids who come from a wealthy suburban background. These kids expect to be surronded by diversity at a college with more people of similar race. They almost always find themselves identifying with the white kids they grew up with instead of the black/minorites that live all around. This puts them in kind of an awkward situation.

I know I've gotten way off topic here but it's something I've been observing more and more recently. I really think that in America (and many other countries) race issues are connected to socio-economic status. I think we need to start acknowledging this more and understand that the divide isn't between races as much as it is between "haves" (refined) and "have nots" (crude). This could even be tied to the Martin case in Florida. People keep bringing up the hoodie incident. I can almost gurarantee you that if Martin had been wearing a collared shirt and nice pants the incident may have gone down differently. And if a white kid had dressed exactly as Martin had the result may have been the same (all other factors being the same).
