This is doubtful, given China's massive investment in coal power expansion.

... China is planning to build 43 new coal-fired power plants and 18 new blast . . .

Sadly, for those of us connected to reality (and actual science) the deniers persist.

When people say "radioactive contamination" it just means radiation is present. NOT that those radiation levels are dangerous to human life.

You can't possibly expect our overlords to endure the same restrictions and hardships they would place upon us! My God man....are you some kind of anarchist? ;)

There is no "safe" level of ionizing radiation.

Sure there is. The "no safe level" is yet another myth about radiation.

God forbid we waste any energy discussing anything on this site. Curious @Lee Atwater if you have any suggestions about what we should do. Do something? Like what, anything? Have forums for pre-pubescent children to shout "how dare you" to the politicians?

Deniers? That's it then, is it? Because I question the validity of inferring atmospheric CO2 content from high latitude ice cores, I am a science denier? Because I am aware of the vast and currently irreplaceable uses of the planet's oil and gas reserves I am a science denier?

I'm absolutely certain about this, but I will allow that many others are not - there is currently a vast gap between all of the material and energy the entire planet depends upon from the planet's organic resource reserves and the as-of-yet entirely fictitious replacement resources and technology to make the world carbon emission free.

So, even-if in-fact, Al Gore and Greta, uh, well, whatever. I've lost interest in this post now. When I need Al and Greta to explain science to me will be the day that I'm clueless regarding what science is.

Biden Publicly Apologizes For Trump’s Withdrawal From Paris Climate Agreement

President Biden offered an apology during the U.N. climate conference for former President Trump’s move to withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate change agreement.

Speaking in Glasgow, Scotland on Monday with other world leaders, the President expressed remorse for his predecessor’s decision.

“I guess I shouldn’t apologize, but I do apologize for the fact that the United States — the last administration — pulled out of the Paris Accords and put us sort of behind the 8 ball,” Biden said.

Upon entering office on Jan. 20, Biden signed an executive order to have the U.S. re-enter the Paris climate accord, the largest international effort to date aimed at curbing climate change, and one that the U.S. played a key role in negotiating while Biden was vice president.

It must be a source of embarrassment for Joe that a member of his own party......sorta.......is blocking more aggressive measures to fight climate change so he can save coal worker jobs. I can't say what I'd like to see happen to Manchin.

The peer-reviewed paper was published in Global Policy journal (November 2015). You can access the article online here.

What? Did you get a D for that degree then? There is radiation surrounding you right this very second. And you're exposed to it 24/7/365. Hell, what we term "light" from our sun is radiation. And yes, that includes ionizing radiation.

What @Dayton3 said is correct. The "no safe level" is a myth.

As Earth Warms, Human History Is Melting Away

Until recently, the site had been deepfrozen in the subsoil known as permafrost. As global temperatures gather pace, permafrost and glaciers are thawing and eroding rapidly across vast areas of Earth, releasing many of the objects that they had absorbed and revealing aspects of life in a once inaccessible past.

“The circumpolar world is, or was, full of miraculously preserved sites like Nunalleq,” Dr. Knecht said. “They offer a window into the unexpectedly rich lives of prehistoric hunters and foragers like no other.”
    ..............................................................
Glacial archaeology is a relatively new discipline
(cuz.....you know......of all the melting). The ice was literally broken during the summer of 1991 when German hikers in the Ötztal Alps spotted a tea-colored corpse half-embedded on the Italian side of the border with Austria. Initially mistaken for a modern-day mountaineer killed in a climbing accident, Ötzi the Iceman, as he came to be called, was shown through carbon-dating to have died about 5,300 years ago.

Lomborg's work is highly statistical. Your comment reeks of Know-Nothingism.
