I do see the point you are making, but the basic fact is that once fertilization has occurred inside the woman's body, it draws all of its sustenance, blood, body parts, everything from her while it develops inside her body. Even using the old "possession is 9/10th's of the law" argument, it still adds up to the fact that this thing that is growing inside of her is hers, and hers alone.

Do I 'like' abortion? No. Most people don't -- but -- that's why we must be a nation ruled by a Constitution and laws that guarantee that a woman's body and everything in it belongs exclusively to her.

I agree that "a slave is not physically located inside a woman's BODY". An unborn child is indeed, NOT a slave. It is a human being with all the rights to life that go along with that. I also agree with you "that a person's body and everything that is part of it belongs exclusively to him or her"... including all the body parts of an unborn child belong to the unborn child.

And I will agree that abortion, per se, is a sad, tragic, terrible procedure in itself. But, unless we make fundamental alterations to our Constitution that I doubt any of us really wants, abortion is, and MUST remain, legal!

    "Lets all act irresponsibly!"-

When does the father's semen become part of the mother's body?

That sounds contrary to the present science which indicate the semen never becomes a part of the woman's body but instead becomes part of a separate third person. This third person has right to their body and like you say, "it belongs exclusively to him or her".

Where is it written that abortion is legal? Its not in the Constitution. And now the Sup Court has ruled that since it is not mentioned in the Constitution, it is not within the power of the federal government to allow, regulate or ban it. The tenth amendment clearly states that powers NOT GRANTED to the federal government, belong to the states. The bottom line is that the VOTERS in each state will now determine the laws (or lack thereof) in each state regarding abortion.

The Court did not alter the Constitution in any way. It simply recognized that the Constitution contains no reference to abortion... so its a state matter. And the voters in each state will determine their own laws. DEMOCRACY WORKS!

    It's both medical and legal.
There's plenty of abortions that happen because of risk of life to the woman. Or the fetus won't be a viable human being.

Cells are still cells. They have no legal rights nor should cells have rights over a living human being.
It takes many weeks before there's heartbeat and I think even longer before there's brainwave activity. Brainwaves is how human life is determined when someone is dead.

In many states now, risk to life of woman has to be extreme before an abortion can be given.

Cells should not be given rights of the woman.
It should be the right to choice. Up to a certain point in a pregnancy. It should be a choice, you should not tell women what they can do.

We are not talking about kids in an abortion. Nor are we talking about people.
Why can't authoritarians understand this. You are not in control of every woman.

If brainwaves are all the separate the dead from the living, how do you explain bacteria or plants that have no central nervous system? Are these organisms dead?

Either you believe in equal individual rights or you do not. The science says a human individual is identifiable by its DNA, and a fetus has their own unique DNA that is sepatate from both the mother's and the father's DNA. Abortion is in fact homicide. The abortionists call it "health care", the only "health care" on the planet that intentionally extinguishes the life of an individual.

The woman's womb belongs to her, not the fetus. Game, set, match.

Women are second class citizens when and where you and your self-righteous fellow travelers take away their right to an abortion.

The unborn child belongs to the unborn child... game, set, match. There is no right to murder.
Women are not second class citizens. The problem is that neither are unborn, helpless children.
Life is a right... its in the Constitution. Where is abortion listed as a right? It is the very fact that it is mentioned nowhere in the Constitution that led the Supreme Court to decide recently that the authority to allow, regulate or ban abortion is an authority belonging to the states, not the federal government. Now the VOTERS in each state will decide. If they agree with you... you have no problem at all.

There's no right to inhabit a woman's body against her will.

What is the difference between your dehumanizing of ZEF's and a slaver's dehumanizing of blacks back in the day? They're not just cells. They're a stage of human life. That is a scientific fact. All humans have a Right to Life.

The point is that there is a right to life in the Constitution. And without that Right to Life, there are no other Rights. A ZEF is a human life. No one has a right to kill another human, no matter where they're located.

And she willingly gave up that right to bodily autonomy to that human life she created when she gave consent by performing an act that she knew could create that life.

A question was asked. I answered it. Not my fault you disputed the answer and then got schooled. It is a scientific fact that the sex drive is about procreating. Just because humans also use it for pleasure is irrelevant. Human's do a lot of things that are not what nature intended. Doesn't negate the purpose.

They are just cells, and all humans don't have a right to life

I can't dehumanize something not yet a human being.

Correct, they are a stage of life, not yet a human being. On track, if all goes well, to someday become a human being.

Yes, all humans have a right to life, but not cells or ZEFs. If the woman has to give up rights of hers that she doesn't want to give up.

Do those convicted of 1st degree murder in some states with the death penalty have a right to life?
You just said, every human has a right to life.

The Constitution does not give the government power over a woman's body, and it doesn't mention abortion at all. But, I see a pathway to logic in your argument about the 10th Amendment, which I am a die-hard believer in. Still, even if a state bans abortion, it is likely that the SCOTUS will rule that a woman's body and everything in it is under her exclusive dominion and nobody else's.

Instead of banning abortion altogether, it is very possible that states would be able to win a case that restricts abortion to certain time limits instead. One of those, "So, when could the fetus survive outside the mother's womb if provided with a suitable environment and adequate medical care" types of arguments.

That's right... in part. I believe that 50 states will come up with 50 different sets of laws ranging from a ban of abortion to anything goes, with a bunch of grayer statutes in between. The Court has stated that abortion is not a federal issue... period. Each state will get what it wants. Ain't democracy grand?

There is no such thing as an "unborn child."
They are when anti-abortion types control government. The solution, of course, is clean you folks out of government.
That ship sailed twenty years ago. The Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act of 2003 is a federal law regulating abortion. You're spreading misinformation.
You packed the Court. The Justices are bringing law itself into disrepute.

YOUR OPINION is that there is no such thing as an "unborn child". Millions disagree with you. That's why leaving it up to each state to decide its own abortion laws is such a great idea.
Ahh... you want to "clean out the government" of opposing views so that you can run everything your way. SIEG HEIL BABY!! SIEG HEIL!
Okay, so I assume that means that you CAN'T show where in the Constitution it says abortion is a RIGHT... we understand.
    We packed the court? Hardly.

The claim was right to abortion is hidden someplace, somewhere, in some dimension, in the right to privacy which is not enumerated in the bill of rights or the constitution.

The claim is it is an implied right. Maybe so but it does not apply to abortion. If this were the case I could kill my neighbor privately and burry him in my privately owned woods privately.
