We have price gouging laws in disaster areas for a reason. That guy who was trying to sell $20 hand sanitizer was stopped, but a drug company can charge thousand of dollars for a pill that only somewhat helps with covid symptoms?

Yes. We also at least slowed that company that bought the epi pen company and started charging schools hundreds of dollars each to maintain required protection for children.

But, the system can't be said to be working when our drugs cost so much more than those of other countries and when we have to take federal action on a case by case basis when things get totally out of hand.

Capitalism is outstanding. But, it doesn't solve all problems that do need to get solved.
