When Obama was president, Buick was a very desired car to the Chinese and it was built in China.

So now you want to cut American wages?
Keep that post away from the wages are growing under Trump.
Why can't you accept the fact that Trump singlehandedly has substantially increased US auto costs and forced them out of the small car market.
Seems odd, don't you think, that if your statement were true that it would take 10 years to see the results?

Obama restricted the auto industry and that is why the public is turning to the SUV and passenger carrying Pick up Truck to make up for the changes Obama put into force.

Tariffs on China is not forcing buyers into small cars. Who told you they did that?

Still is, but unfortunately GM can't make any money selling it in America anymore. :(
    40,000 cars a year - poof.

Tariffs are forcing US automakers out of the small car market.
You know, little things like increased steel costs, increase electronics costs and increased labor costs from outsourcing.

    Congress? Your kidding, right?
Trump has gone out of his way to go around Congress in his trade war.

They take their time making capital investments. That's why they were talking about expanding the Cruze plant in Mexico in 2015.
But they are quite nimble (for a big company) about moving stuff between plants.
For example when Trump threatened them about the Cruze plant in Mexico they decided to move it to China where they had it in production.. But of course Trump killed that with his tariffs on Chinese manufactured cars.
So they just threw in the towel and shut down the Ohio plant.

In my opinion, solving for simple poverty through compensation for Capitalism's natural rate of unemployment is better implementation of social policy in a market friendly manner. It would put an upward pressure on "freer markets".

I once owned a 1989 Buick. I then bought a new 1994 Cadillac. The Buick was junk compared.

GM told Brazil they lost a huge amount of money there as the largest auto seller in Brazil, the largest auto market in South America, then reversed course and now will invest 2.7 billion dollars in plants that exist.

I found this trying to locate news about China.

All auto makers produce automobiles in the most financially sensible location for the target market in question, hence cars sold here will be made here, or very near here, provided that China doesn't offer a better deal that can make up for the shipping and import duties. That's why foreign cars are made here and domestic cars are made abroad.
He couldn't even succeed at making booze?

Also, interesting choice of booze under the circumstances..

There is nothing dark about it, actually. It makes more financial sense, and even more environmental sense, to produce things near where they will be sold.

Actually it's the union retirement benefits that are killing "Generous Mother". Many of these benefit packages were settled on when GM was bigger than most countries and had grown at phenomenal rates post WW2. The assumption was it would always be that way but it's a different world now and GM union workers need to realize that.

Farmers around this country have continually relied on government subsidies and grants to survive. Do they have to come to you when they want to retire or sell?

China has become a word like Band-Aid. Just as Band-Aid is all encompassing of stick on bandages jobs going to China means jobs going anywhere out of the US.

Farmers were subsidized to ensure we never became reliant on foreign countries for food. Have our socialist schools quit teaching that fact?
