Best place to support Russia from is....anywhere else.

I notice one of our more prolific propagandists has taken a long break. Maybe Vlad has given him an all expenses paid holiday to Ukraine. That would be kinda funny. :)

    Interesting answer!
    Wrong person, but thank you!
If you've never lived here, I can see how you get that impression.
I think your correct for a portion of our society, maybe throw in arrogant, but it is less than 20%.
Don't take what you see here as typical.
There's more extremism here than typical Americans care about, they just aren't vocal about being in the middle.

I said nothing about "shithole". I specifically said "cowards". Two different things.

Regardless the character issues the current leaders of the US suffer from, the US is not a shithole.

Then why don't the Russians just go home? Document and record all the American abuses they say are going on and present their case to the UN like they're supposed to do as not only a member but one of the Security Council. They can always come back later. The major thing to do now is to just stop killing people.

Would Russia have invaded Ukraine has the US not been interfering in the region? Or would Russia have left them sit as a buffer state? If the latter, then I can see people rationally thinking this a proxy war.

Russia would have invaded whenever Ukraine decided not to do what Russia wanted. Putin didn't want a 'buffer', he wanted a weak, easily manipulated neighbour or a client state. Russia & its apologists believe Russia has an eternal right to dictate the fate of nations on its border...unless those nations are strong enough to stop Russia doing this.

Provided Ukraine had joined Russia's sad little economic union and never tried to leave, provided Ukraine had let Russia base military forces & basically do as it wanted, Ukraine would have been fine.

Ukraine is not a 'proxy' for the US, it is an invaded nation reaching out to the only nations prepared to help it keep its territory. If people are so mentally ill or pumped full of propaganda that they see this as being a 'proxy' then they deal themselves out of any worthwhile discussion of the topic.

The U.S. was not interfering with anything. Russia has been displaying imperialistic tendencies for a while, and now it turned into an outright fascist state that is craving to restore USSR and influence over Warsaw Pact countries.

If you go by the logic of Russian trolls then American Revolutionary War was a proxy war between France and Great Britain. And during WW2 USSR wasn’t fighting nazis - it was fighting its own separatists. And if you listen to Russia’s claims that Ukrainians shell their own cities then Russian Stalingrad was destroyed by USSR troops.
Sometimes I wonder how such people manage to function in their society. What can you do for a living when your logic is so unnaturally twisted? It’s like, these people genuinely cannot tell the difference between good and evil. Or they are sociopaths - people who believe their own lies if it benefits them in some way, or if it helps them cope with something, like everyday misery of living in Russia.

Oh yeah, like I imagined the national holiday they celebrate every Jan 1st for a certain Nazi's birthday. Like I imagine all the statues they are building to idolize a certain Nazi. Like the stamp they issue for the same.

    And

Like I imagine the street they renamed after a certain Nazi that leads to the trenches of Babi Yar, where that certain Nazi's Ukrainian soldiers marched 30,000 Jews into those trenches and mowed them down with rifles.

    Yeah, such an imagination.

But you can believe whatever you like sir and you can support these Nazis if you wish. I do not. F**K those Nazis and the Ukrainian government who works with these Nazis.

Tell me, if Germany renamed streets to Adolf Hitler Blvd. and one led to the Holocaust Memorial, would that be imaginary too?

Beats me. Would that be something that actually happened or is it yet something else you made up. Remember I am sensitive to charges of Nazism as I've been repeatedly called a Nazi based on my avatar image from two years ago.

I'm sure it does 'beat you'. Try google and google maps, and then still deny that Ukraine has a nazi problem. Be my guest.

And returning to the topic of the thread, Ukraine should go F**K themselves.

Yes, Russia would have invaded regardless. Putin and others in Russia want Ukraine back under Russian control and do not respect Ukrainian sovereignty.

Also, I disagree that Russia's motives for attacking Ukraine could make this a proxy war. Once again, the Ukrainians are fighting the Russians. We can't make them do it. They could have folded like our armed and trained friends in Afghanistan when the chips came down, but they did not and aren't about to.

That's because we have interests everywhere. Look at Ukraine. A couple from my old Sunday school class adopted both of their baby girls (beautiful girls by the way) from Ukraine.

Why? We "interfere" to stop dictators and other oppressors. All of the negativity about the US that you encounter online ultimately comes from their propagandists and disinformation agents.

The U.S. involvement is always significantly over exaggerated by dictators.
In 2013 Nuland handed out cookies to protesters in Kyiv and John McCain took group photos. Russians turned these actions into the whole election meddling scheme. Oh, and US diplomats, apparently, cannot display any enthusiasm over some political force during a private phone call.

Russia has a nazi problem, not Ukraine. A neo nazi is running their space agency.

I don't think we should be in the business of trying to change other governments. Ours is bad enough at the moment. The poster said the US interferes in everything. I happen to agree with him.

Here I do not agree with you. Of course, US interfered in Ukranian business in 2014 and instignaed coup, like it did before in Guatemala and many other countries.

    Prove it.
Describe concrete actions that led to the “coup”.
Who did what, when, and where? So far we know that Nuland handed out cookies, John McCain took group pictures, and Psaki displayed enthusiasm over a pro-western candidate (why wouldn’t she?) during a private phone call. If that’s all it takes to overthrow a government, we should send truck loads of cookies to Moscow and send some politicians to take selfies next to Kremlin.

More complaining that could easily have come straight from the Kremlin. The oppressors we stop love to complain and try to convince everyone who will listen that we're the bad guys.

Also, our government is only as bad as the jerks we elect, so vote responsibly.

If we voted responsibly, the democrat and republican parties wouldn't exist. We vote for the powermongers in both parties again and again, instead of what would be good for America.

Nuland not only handed out cookies but also made a comments in the telephone call with the ambassador in Ukraine (G. Pyatt) that indicated that the US is deeply involved in the Ukranian business. This call became available in the internet. For example, she suggested that Yatsenuk was a good candidate for the prime minister position. What happened later? He became a prime minister.
George Friedman from Stratfor сonfirmed that the coup was financed by the US (https://www.kommersant.ru/doc/2636177). President Obama has admitted in the interview to CNN that the US was an intermediary in the transition of power in Ukraine in 2014 (https://russian.rt.com/article/71809). It is interesting that Nuland ****ed EU in that leaked conversation. Obviously, with the current war in Ukraine, US achieves two goals- to weak Russian influence in Europe and to weak EU.
