I put this in the conspiracy forum, not to lesson credibility but simply because it was fitting. Yesterday or the day before somebody on this forum brought up an article that noted Andreas Lubitz as a recent muslim convert. I googled "Andreas Lubitz converted to islam" to get information....and got it but it didn't seem very credible, all the many results stemming from one source which is typical in webland. Today I googled it again----and not only did I not see any of those same results I saw the other day----no results for Islam, or Lubitz came up at all. Its was totally non-relevant gobbligook. I went to Bing and Yahoo.com---and all sorts of information pertaining to the subject matter came up--including a snopes post delegating it uncredible. I ask ya'll to do the test yourself. Do you get the same type of results? I think its disturbing that google may be working with the powers that be to control information. From what I saw----if there WAS credible information regarding Islam associated with Kubitz---we wouldn't see it because of how they scrubbed the search. Google has lost all credibility in my eyes.
Very interesting, but not surprising. Ideologues, such as the main stream media have been doing this for years, so it should be no surprise that ideologues in other industries will do the same. It is a bit of a tragedy, though, that almost all of American institutions have become megaphones for statist propaganda, instead of open information.
Unless a news source has written something, it's doubtful that anything will appear on a google search. Also, sometimes a change in terms, say from "converted" to "convert" gets very different results. Has nothing to do with scrubbing a search. It has to do with the intricacies of an internet search. Admittedly, its a week past your post, but typing in "Andreas Lubitz convert" into Google I get a few links to a possible Muslim connection. I don't see the scrubbing. I do see that there is little or no credibility to any claims he was a Muslim convert. I will admit, that was my first instinct as to why this happened, but facts get in the way of that theory.
