None of my employees had any side effects from the bioNtech, wide range of age, 40 to late 60, male and female. Sore arm, nothing more.
In a weeks time the rest gets the second vaccine and than 2 weeks later, we will have a little party.

I am rather proud of my crew how they behaved and dealt with the virus during the last 12 month. We are very exposed in our job, all of us had family members or friends with covid, 2 death, several hospitalized, within the families.
I am very proud of my crew, quiet a few got vaccinated against the will of their families, they showed strength and common sense, even the ones who were very worried about the vaccine.
My office door is now plastered with the stickers our hospital gives out, names on it, dates, first and second vaccination.
I put mine on it first and than everybody followed.

I am extremely proud of my crew.

    Continuing my experiment
I have not been updating this because there have been developments. This is what has happened during my experiment: measurements are averages of 2 or 3 readings a day - , measured around 11am and 11pm:

    vaccine minus 12 hours : 121/77 pulse 78
    vaccine minus 1 hour: 130/90 pulse 71
    vaccine + 11 hours : 138/84 pulse 76
    vaccine + 1 day : 150/90 pulse 80
    vaccine +2 days:170/110 pulse 88
Decided to go to a walk in centre : two measurements 195/?, 158/95
Advised to see my doctor. Bank Holiday everywhere closed
vaccine +6 days : during telephone convo with clinician 180/95 : Prescribed Amlodipine 5mg
    vaccine + 7 days : 146/87 pulse 78
    vaccine + 8 days 141/86 pulse 84
    vaccine +9 days 144/88 pulse 101
    vaccine +10 days: 130/85 pulse 80
    vaccine +11 days: 135/84 pulse 75
    vaccine +13 days 132/82 pulse 82
    vaccine +14 days 129/78 pulse 76
    vaccine +15 days 130/83 pulse 75
    vaccine + 16 days 122/81 pulse 72
    vaccine + 17 days: 128/85 pulse 65
    vaccine +18 days: 122/80 pulse 69
    vaccine +19 days: 126/79 pulse 71
    vaccine +20 days: 115/76 pulse 68
    vaccine +21 days: 117/77 pulse 64

In conclusion: It does seem like the AZ vaccine effected my BP and pulse rate as, asfar as I'm aware, Amlodipine reduces the pressure by around 5-10 points which would tie up with my normal BP of around 130/85 ish based on day 21 yet I can see my BP significantly raised straight after the vaccine peaking between days 2 and 6 and then drops significantly.

Could this effect be the reason why many complain of head aches after receiving the vaccine and could an elevated BP be the reason for blood clots?

I will repeat the experiment when I get the second dose but will probably still be on Amlodipine

In my opinion you already had hypertension. Remember all my advice to actually monitor your BP more closely? You started monitoring after the vaccine and you were able to spot the high readings. This would likely have happened without the vaccine, too. You were probably also a bit stressed out, afraid of side effects so it went up a bit. So it got to one scary measurement of 170/110 and you were started on Amlodipine. Good choice by your doctor.

No, hypertension does not cause the kind of blood clots seen in association with these vaccines. We already know what causes it: auto-immune antibodies.

Headaches are more closely associated with fever than with hypertension (except for very high blood pressure). A lot of people get a little temp and a little headache after the vaccines.

I don't really agree with this. As stated previously I have been borderline with BP around 135/85 for several years. I started monitoring in my home my BP 12 hours before the vaccine and it took 2-3 days after the vaccine for my BP to reach the recorded high. I posted my initial post in this thread in order to promote the AZ vaccine fully expecting no side effects. It can be seen from my history that I have been very much an advocate of the Az vaccine. I have no fear of injections and was not at all stressed out having the injection. The whole process took less than 3 minutes from entering the pharmacy and exiting. The Flu vaccine I had in October did not give these side effects regarding the high pulse rate (I didn't monitor BP)..

I'll repeat the experiment when I have the second dose

OK, fair enough, then. I jumped to conclusions; my apolgies.

Report the side effect to the appropriate agency in your country. Over here we have an FDA/CDC reporting tool using the smartphone app they include a flyer for, together with the consent paperwork; I hope in your country there is something similar; or if not, your doctor will be able to report the side effect. I hadn't heard of hypertension as a side effect of the AZ vaccine but I suppose anything is possible; I haven't really looked into all the details regarding the AZ vaccine because it is not approved here and consequently we don't have the full analysis by the FDA, which details all reported side effects to date for the ones we do have here (Pfizer, Moderna, J&J). So maybe hypertension as a side effect to the AZ shot has been reported already. Hopefully with you now on amlodipine, this won't repeat. By the way, your doctor may have mentioned that amlodipine has common side effects of a bit of dry cough and a bit of lower extremity edema. These are common but not alarming. In low dose they usually don't happen.

Hi. There is no need to apologise. I appreciate all your advice. We have a reporting system called "yellow card" which I submitted about a weeks ago

I'm not getting any obvious side effects from Amlopidine but I seem to be feeling the cold more which is very unlike me as I usually feel too hot so feeling cold is somewhat welcome, but maybe a coincidence.

Chills and tremors (which people associate with low tolerance to cold) are described as rare side effects of amlodipine. True cold intolerance (like we see in cases of hypothyroidism) is not, to my knowledge, a described side effect of amlodipine.
