Where did the government "force" Ford to pull the ad? No one even alleges that. The ad makes it apparent Ford is trading on anti-Obama sentiment int he first place. And if Ford was indeed NOT beholden to the Government and "stands on its own", why should it care if the White House is unhappy with Ford?
Naturally a dictatorship like the one Obama is trying to build cannot stand the free expression of ideas in a free marketplace. This is typical of how statists like Obama operate.
Just another example of why no one that values freedom should ever vote Democrat. EVER. You can't do anything under liberal policies.

And trading on anti-socialist sentiment is, what, illegal or does it just justify bullying? B. I'm not beholden to the government but I am terrified of them. I seem to remember a congresswoman recently saying that the banks should be bankrupted by higher taxes. I remembe3r the President bragging that he intended to bankrupt the coal companies. Of course, the government wouldn't want to take over a company like Ford.A successful car company is a very tempting target for the destroyers in Washington.
In the case of Obama it's because he wants to replace the private sector with bigger government. Why go after Gibson's Guitars when they have done nothing wrong unless you want to destroy them?
I like that Ford ad because it really speaks abot what America used to be. if you fail, you dust yourself off, pick yourself up and try harder. Liberalism has removed the results of failure with union bailouts at gm and chrysler. Ford should put the ad back on tv.
So where exactly is the proof that the government did anything? Ford denies it and the only proof is a nobody columnist at a Detroit newspaper.
Translation: I hate America. I pray my Chinese masters take over every aspect of North American manufacturing. You will "fight for America" halfway around the world by bombing innocent women and children in a desert but you won't "fight for America" in Detroit by giving a US citizen a chance to work. nice.
