My visits to germany? Uh yeah, were numerous ...years back, my older brother is retired cobra helo pilot, that was stationed at Ramstein &Weisbaden. I "decompressed" at Frankfurt after Desert Storm, my sister-in-law is a german gal from Hanover, I have distant family at Mannheim, I've been to Agricultural/Industrial Expo at Hanover, through my company.

I've never been to Hannover although I also have family in Germany - natives so to speak.

Btw, Helsinki is a nice place, albeit in a small City setting. But that suits me. I generally detest large cities, although I love Paris (the inner centre anyway).

 

I don't think so. I think you're giving our military too much credit. I should think anything of value would have been stolen and sold years ago - and by individuals. At the best it would be incriminating documents of what we were doing in Iraq as well as the communication that was going on between different countries. But why would they store that information in Finland?

There's also the possibility it's money to hand out to protesters for a regime change in Russia, the way they were doing in Ukraine. In Ukraine there were Poles who joined in, so they might have others ready to join in as well.

Anyway at the worse, the warehouse could contain viruses from the military's biological labs in Iraq - that is if they have any there? Of course I don't know, but our military does have them in Ukraine and Georgia, so I have to assume they do. If they do, I'm sure Russia would know, and considering how close the warehouse is to their border it should be quite concerning to them.

Let's not forget our air force collected samples of DNA from a certain segment of the Russian population. Why would they need it, if it wasn't to find out what viruses they are susceptible to? Was the segment of the Russian population they collected it from close to Helsinki - or maybe even Kaliningrad since it's of strategic importance?

If Russia knows it's viruses, the best thing would be to blow up the warehouse, except that the viruses would become airborne? The Finnish people better be on their guard. The only problem is that they can't enter and inspect the warehouse since it is diplomatic property.

Anyway I'm just speculating here! Who knows?

 

silly, isn't it... it's one thing to give an official & their office diplomatic immunity, it's a whole other ballgame making parcels of land & warehouses immune...

The building was (and still is?) used by the CIA. Allegedly or indeed, it was or is still a stopover for the transport of caught, non-American terrorist suspects for illegal interrogation and torture, such as those done in Tunisia or Egypt, because on US soil and even in Guantanamo not possible to do due to legal issues.

I don't buy that. They wouldn't be kept in a diplomatic warehouse since it's American property. Besides Finland is neutral and wouldn't allow it. I know that when diplomatic cargo planes were landing one after the other in a country on Russia's southern flanks, Moscow felt it had to be money to hand out to protesters the way they did in Ukraine so they alerted the government.

Is it money this time, and are they planning protests, or could it be something more notorious - like virus' perhaps?.

 

Anyway whatever is in that warehouse, you can be sure Russia has a handle on it - especially since it's next door.
