    Congration?

It's odd that such a poor speller would want to take on the role of a
    spelling NAZI.

Look how many spelling errors you have made over the past few days
and look how many times I tried to embarrass you by pointing out your
    mistakes.

Do try to remember: you were the one that opened this gate.

You are right, I made a mistake, I should have checked with more care.

    Congregation....
Also spell check is not working, it gives rafts of junk that needs correction.

Thanks for pointing it out !

I guess you forgot you were the one who was crying about me mistyping
the letter "a" instead of "I".

And you are a horrible speller, I am just a bigger person than you and haven't
    pointed it out.

I always considered that to be rude.

    and don't forget two things

    1) many murderers are young adults who have extensive juvenile records but those records are not searchable. So 18-20 year olds who kill might not yet have a felony adult conviction but most have had juvenile felony convictions that don't show up.

    2) the culture that tends to supply most of the murderers and many of the murder victims also has a strong "don't snitch" culture as well. When inner city black drug dealers or drug users whack another inner city black drug dealer or drug user, its very tough to get witnesses to rat out the shooter. that fact tends to cause an artificial diminution of the numbers of murders caused by inner city black felons.

Yep, which is why Chicago and Baltimore have a murder clearance rate hovering in the 30% range.

I have heard black "civil rights" leaders whine that those who kill whites are far more likely to get convicted or even executed than those who kill blacks. however, this ignores several facts. The first issue is that many of the blacks killed (most blacks murdered are murdered by other blacks, most whites murdered are murdered by other whites but far more whites are killed by blacks than vice versa) are felons and friends of felons or co-conspirators don't tend to talk to the police. Secondly, the don't snitch nonsense also prevents clearance of black on black homicides. Except perhaps with certain white crime organizations, if someone kills a white his or her friends are going to call the cops far more readily. finally, black on white murderers are often based on an underlying felony-bank robbery, convenience store robbery etc.

I used to carry a 4" knife on commercial flights, but now carry a couple tactical pens.... no one pays attention to them but given my decades martial arts and expertise with knives, they are good force point focus multipliers. They also work well to control... this from practical application experience.

I have one of those knives that looks like a key. I dint have the training or experience to even *try* to use it defensively... but i like to see how many times i can get it through security. I think its up to 12 checkpoints. One time a tsa guy was holding it in one hand while lecturing me about a different knife that he found in the other hand. Had no clue. Made me smile.

What didnt make me smile was the 20ga cartridge I found in my carryon when i got home that made it through 6 checkpoints... f**king worthless security theatre.

My favorite airline weapon is an ordinary common every day medical cane,
    why ?

Because it is not possible to classify an ordinary cane as a weapon, yet a cane, aluminum or wood is one of the greatest weapons ever made,
    and completely unrestricted.

You can face many different weapons scenarios with a cane, the perfect unrestricted, unregulated airline weapon.

Used to be a time when people walked more frequently than these days where people drive to go a block or two and they carried cane/walking sticks, often with brass or silver handles that had multiple purposes, comfortable support, self defense against both four and two legged predators, optics, camera stands, etc. Many also had concealed blades and some even hidden firearm or pneumatic weapons. Many were also works of art mow sought by some collectors. Yes, even without, concealed weapons they can make excellent self defense weapons, often deceptive, in that the it can make the person wielding one appear incapable of defense until too late.
As already mentioned, I almost always carry one or more well made tactical pens. I often carry a 3 by 5 card and business card leather wallet and make frequent notes so a tactical pen also works works as... a pen. I have one made by a master knife maker which is a piece of functional art/jewelry, and I have several others made from heavy aluminum from vendors such as crkt, schrade, and cold steel.
These function well a kubotan and I teach people how to deploy them. They are excellent stealth weapons, inocuous (as long as you carry one that doesn't appear as a spiked weapon) and can usually be carried anywhere, even countries that don't allow defensive weapons, like the U.K. While not a standoff weapon like a cane, they can be carried most places. They can be used for various levels of defense up to deadly force.
A tactical pen is one of my range of EDC tools/strategies for various justifiable levels of force to meet various levels of threat before needing a last resort of a firearm. At contact distances, like a cane, an aggressor isn't likely to expect one to be deployed. It is a good equalizer against size and all but the best trained. It can also be used against a knife or other weapon threat.

Being raised in Belfast provided me with a education of street fighting where almost any object at hand can be used for self defense, even books and news papers. So many everyday objects can be stealth weapons that can be carried on a plane. Most people don't think that way, but in crowds, pubs, stores, etc. I, almost, subconsciously see many objects as possible weapons and know what is at hand... a product of growing up under constant threat. Or... a good option, have a woman with her shoulder bag along... most have bags that can double as scary weapons... if not a standoff weapon, just have a bad guy stick their hand in one... not me.Lol.
BTW, how many here would be submissive in a hijack situation these days?

Football hooligans have demonstrated a significant level of creativity when sneaking weapons into stadiums for when their teams lose a match. Even a common newspaper has been weaponized, what is commonly referred to as a millwall brick.

Is this the dictionary after your "war on the letter U"

Funny isn't it, you are called the USA and yet, as a country, you seem to dislike the letters U and S.

I was raised in Belfast, the Falls. I have family there, and a bit further South and in the Republic. I have frequently returned home, but, this go I haven't been home in over a year. However, I frequently communicate with many there on an almost daily basis. I live in a community in the US with a considerable number of ExPats (Irish) and a few Brits; we get along on this side of the Blue.

Not a fan of May's. Surprised a Arlene and May haven't gotten into bed... both shell shocked after this year.
Not for a SF - DUP deal either; found it strange it was even discussed. Happy Arlene still has her shoes... works for me, not so much for her side.
