Yup....the days of FOX news as a mouthpiece of Trump may be coming to an end. Old man Murdoch is giving more control of his cable news stationed gradually to his sons....one of which is a conservative libertarian and the other a climate change liberal. Both dislike Trump.

Plus...there has been chatter for some time that the news channel will be sold. Now that Disney has the entertaiment section of FOX....the news section is too small to survive on it's own.

2020 may see a massive change at FOX news channel.

The good thing about Fox is that it gives the alternative conservative point of view on the news vs. the very liberal and pro Democratic Party's views on CNN and MSNBC. I do think those true conservatives wouldn't mind at all the dropping of the pro-Trump mouthpiece in favor of the more traditional conservative slant on the news. Trump, the eight time party switcher doesn't have a political ideology. He is all about himself.

What is sad is cable news networks have taken sides in our political battles instead of just reporting on them. Perhaps a switch from pro-Trump, a man who doesn't know what he is politically due to his switching parties all the time to a more libertarian conservative slant would be welcomed. At least by true conservatives who don't partake in idolizing a man, where presenting conservative ideals is more important than propping up a man who is just out for himself.

Well said! Trump IS NOT a Conservative....never has been. He is a self serving narcissist....who caters to the crowd. Perhaps it is time for the Republican Party to, once again, embrace it's long held ideology.....instead of blindly following a man who changes his mind with little thought or reason.

I may not be a republican or conservative, but I certainly respect people who identify as such because they have taken the time to consider their values and beliefs and support the party that aligns best with them. But because Trump is not a republican or a conservative, I'm not sure what to think of his supporters. Have they considered their values and beliefs and contrasted them to Trump and his ideologies? And if the answer is yes, then it is difficult to see them as republicans or conservatives.

As for Fox, I would be a hypocrite if I criticized Fox for being partisan...because I am a watcher of MSNBC for the most part. As long as viewers (of both) ensure that they are viewing critically, and not just swallowing what is offered up as truth. Both offer a good jumping off point to investigate the information presented. I don't rely upon ANYONE to inform me or my views - that is my responsibility. But newscasts can point me at a story for further investigation.

I heard Trump is unhappy with Pence....something about him getting the wrong number for Trump's hair color.

Maybe Donnie will name Hannity as his running mate in 2020.....ugghhh...that would be beyond scary!

I'm an old Goldwater conservative with some of Ross Perot thrown in. I suppose some would call that more or less being a tradition conservative. Trump in no way represents, at least my brand of traditional conservatism. I do think the Republican Party has moved away from traditional conservatism into the more recent social conservatism or as some call it religious conservatism along with neo conservatism. I don't think Trump comes close to representing even the social conservatives or the neo conservatives either.

The man doesn't have a political ideology unless one considers the wall a political ideology.

I shudder at the thought of what might replace it if it does go or change significantly. Its viewers are already radicalized; they will seek other radical (fake) news to take its place. Crap like Breitfart will only become more mainstream.

Hannity isn't leaving Fox. Just this evening he was praising his network over the Mueller disclosures and condemning every other media source. In his fanatically partisan rants he attacked Democrat after Democrat, especially Obama and Hillary and acted as if Fox was the greatest thing in the known universe. Unfortunately for him he also attacked Mueller and Comey notwithstanding the fact that both are Republicans. He also named others from that party even though he pretended they were Dems.

    Laughable!

Breitbart - the same hatemongers who said Muslims shouted F******** Jesus and had several right wingers on this forum fall for that BS. of course, that report was typical right wing FAKE NEWS and that's why the righties fall all over it.

Whatever anybody thinks of Hannity, he is consistent and fair minded when it comes to criticism of those in the public eye. And he takes on a Republican as quickly as he does a Democrat when in his opinion a Republican behaves wrongly or badly in their elected, appointed, or hired positions. He does not identify as a member of the Republican or Democrat Party and pledges allegiance to neither.

Vanity Fair is one of the more irresponsible and errant media sources. Especially since they didn't post the tweets, I wouldn't put a lot of stock into much that they print.

Hannity pushed Trumps shutdown cave in as a strategic move and was selling it hard on his radio show and so did Limbaugh to some degree. I think people like Shawn Hannity are institutionalized to some degree. Look at Mark Levin and Michelle Malkin and the issue when Glenn Beck bought out CRTV- Michelle left Levin stayed. I have lost hope for any fox newsers and I am starting to see issues with the, "Can Kicker & Chief ".

Not withstanding how non sequitur this is for a response to my post (I think), I am sorry, but I have no clue what you are even saying here.

Hannity and Carlson are the only ones worth watching anyway. I stopped watching Fox years ago, but if Hannity goes independent, Ill tune in to him.

I'll be more than happy to see Fox join CNN and MSNBC as they swirl down the crapper.

You said you felt Hannity was being consistent in his criticism of politicians . My opinion is that he was not critical of Trumps position on border control, because on his show during the shutdown vote I listened to him talk up Trumps plan to once again accept proposals from McConnell and other Republicans on funding for the border wall in exchange for ending the shutdown. Ryan and McConnel continually had Trump wait on border wall funding while passing the Omnibus spending bill and reneging on support for his immigration proposals. They did that for two years and that was my opinion to your post- I listened to Hannity's show the two days before the shutdown vote and he never mentioned Trumps inaction over the last two years and the fact that he never appointed a team exclusively for immigration reform inside his administration. Ann Coulter and others are also questioning the issue. Rush Limbaugh has also seemingly been less critical of Trump. Sorry I didn't make this plainer in my original response.

Do you know any of the other news networks like the blaze that conservatives have went to? I would like to find one to start watching and get away from FOX. Not sure if I trust the Blaze because of BECK and his going against Trump initially.

I am sorry but I am still not understanding exactly what you are saying here. I am pretty sure Hannity has been consistent on his opinion on border control and that coincides pretty well with the President's position. As has and does Rush. Coulter is angry with the President because she see's him as inconsistent and weak when he caves into Congress who are unwilling to address the border problem. But yes, Hannity and Coulter as well as most conservatives do support the President's policies when we can.

And there is not one of us conservatives, including personalities on Fox News, who do not disagree with each other at times and/or who do not sometimes disagree with or question the President on this or that issue.

That is the difference between people who can think critically, analyze all available information, and draw conclusions that are not dictated by assigned talking points, gossip, innuendo, group think, blind resentment, and hatred and/or ideology.

I am not completely sold on Trump. Being a conservative I want smaller government and less federal control. Trump has had several issues where he could have went against the established political machine in Washington ,but didn't. And don't forget Trump was a Democrat for a long time and my feeling is he is not ideological- meaning he doesn't have a horse in the political race either way, which is why he could ban bump stocks and he talks about a health care bill. I see the current Senate as ESTABLISHMENT controlled. We need the president to go against them, but the same thing is happening with Trump like it has with the Tea Party and many other opposition groups, they are being manipulated to keep supporting the beltway machine. I want to make America great again by not just showing up and wearing the latest fashion in, "show up and go alongery". We need to break the cycle of dependency for the Republican party by stopping the doom and gloom cycle they continue to use against us each election to keep them in office. ( That's how they got Trump).
