    Step one: Make death threat.
Step two: Complain that the responses are violent.

I dunno about that. "Liberals" seem to be going extinct and are being replaced by the left.

It doesn't matter what others are doing if you behave the exact same way. How does it make you better then them? Why should anyone even listen to you when you mirror the actions you condemn? You lose any standing with people when they look at you and that's what they see. Your legitmacy is lost to those you could have reached and now they are no longer interested in any message you might have regardless of how good it may be.

Unity may be a pipe dream. Kumbaya as you put it, but we'll never improve if we don't try to make some kind of stride for it. It's the little steps that count. They accumulate. And while things may not be achieved on a grand scale the way everyone imagines, that is the only way to make change. Little by little. One choice at a time. And by god I know I will never see that kind of thing happen here in my life, but if I just accept that and do nothing then nothing ever will change. We won't always succeed. We won't always be at our best. But as long as we make a consistent effort to do so it might make a difference. And if not then the worst you can say is that you truly did strive to be someone that you would want your own kids to be.

This lockdown has proved that it's time to start liquidating at least half of the "administrative state" and transferring the revenue to vested individual accounts for working Americans to meet specific critical needs. Start with the obsolete failed school systems. Our obsolete failed schools waste billions of dollars in every state.

"Talking out of turn. Destroying classroom materials. Disrespecting teachers. Blurting out answers during tests. Students pushing, kicking, hitting one another and even rolling on the ground. This is what happens in my school every single day.

You may think I’m joking, but I swear I’m not.

Based on my peers’ behavior, you might guess that I’m in second or fourth grade. But I’m actually about to enter high school in New York City, and, during my three years of middle school, these sorts of disruptions occurred repeatedly in any given 42-minute class period."
THE NEW YORK TIMES, Opinion,Why I’m Learning More With Distance Learning Than I Do in School I’m 13 years old. I don’t miss the other kids who talk out of turn, disrespect teachers and hit one another., By Veronique Mintz, Ms. Mintz is an eighth-grade student., May 5, 2020.

The visible part of what passes for the "progressive" "Left" insists on using violence and intimidation to silence its opposition.
So, expect to see the same "Peace and Love" right back.

The "sensationalized" aspect of this story aside - for which this individual needs professional help - there is a broader psychosis in play here - where the Truth can not be spoken out loud - for fear of some thought police brigade reigning down hell on your day.

This environment of screeching political hype is driving fragile minds over the edge.

"Police and FBI agents searched a Hudson Valley, New York, home Wednesday and arrested the 56-year-old man living there after learning about his alleged plan to build a bomb and blow himself up in Washington, D.C. on Election Day, two law enforcement officials told News 4 New York.

Court documents say Paul Rosenfeld wanted to draw attention to his belief in an ancient election system called "sortition," a method of choosing political officials at random."

This is something that my school has indeed discussed - that distance learning for some of our kids is the wave of the future. And by "some" I mean the - well, you ask any teacher, they'll tell you that if you lose just a certain 5% of the kids at school, the place becomes a kind of well-functioning paradise. We've been seriously discussing putting those 5%-ers into a semi-permanent long-distance track.

Self defense is one thing, the alternative makes you as much of a criminal and bully as the ones doing it. Once that happens things escalate to the next phase. And from there to the next and so on and so on all because people refused to act like adults. You want to put an end to this kind of behavior then you need to step up and figure something out because behaving like them will only make things worse for everyone. Be a part of the solution, not the reason that we need one.

    Time for real reform:

    1. Transfer control of the entire education budget to parents and guardians of children -14K -20K/student/year in most school systems.
    2. Eliminate the administrative parasites.
    3. Let college grads, including teachers, form their own small schools from homes or offices using the resources of the internet. Many good textbooks are beyond their copy right.
    4. Teachers who are able to control and educate "problem" students could charge far more for their rare talent.

A teacher running a small school would make much more than union teachers receive now and have plenty of cash to give children a good healthy lunch.

I like the idea of choosing political officials at Random - at least in some respects. This would solve some of the systemic corruption problems.

~ Yes indeed. Glad you said it ! All of the new age "progressive" radical leftist Democrats could use therapy. Their anger, immaturity and unhappiness has nothing to do with politics .
´ Perhaps Dr Fauci should point this out ?

At some point, reality becomes "an eye for an eye." If one side is constantly giving inches, and the other side is constantly taking miles, at some point, the inch-givers have to say enough is enough, and they have to fight back with whatever tactics are required to stop the takers. Reasoning simply does not work with some people.

If a parent constantly appeases a child who throws tantrums, that simply creates more and ever-worsening tantrums. The adults among us have to say STOP at some point, and if it doesn't stop, stronger measures must be taken.

For decades, the civil among us have backed away from confrontations with the "takers," typically letting them have their way, and we are quickly getting to the point that the adults are going to have to come back with "enough is enough." Witness the Sheriff In that Florida County who basically said "Enough is enough." And I am fairly certain that he and his force, and the law-abiding citizens, will do what they need to do to stop the insanity if it reaches their county.
