So do I. Fusion is really the Holy Grail of the modern world. Energy is our bottleneck. With cheap and clean energy for all the world is our oyster as we can make or recycle most anything given the energy, but unless we have that power modernity is going to be rather straitened.

Nikola Tesla had ambitions that would have had a similar but more drastic and earlier impact. Look what Edison did to him.

The establishment seems bent on making bottlenecking the norm, dragging it out in resistance to changes in the status quo because of economic toes that don't want to get stepped on. Change comes when they can't hold back the tide any longer. Other interests keep the best stuff under wraps for exclusive use in privileged domains. By the time fusion utilization gets out into the public domain, black projects will have already done as well or better and moved on to far more advanced technology. Maybe after fusion development and proliferation has been thoroughly milked for profit, some future population will be allowed to reap the benefits of zero point energy. Unless humanity puts its foot down sooner and says it's had enough of this manipulation.

Well I doubt Lockheed Martin can be bullied to stop their progress by the major players profiting off the current system, because they are a major player themselves.

Yeah, in the world of secret technologies I'm sure that we are getting hand-me-downs, but at least with this development towards Fusion power we're all getting a major step up.

Fusion is the energy of the future, and always will be!

Haha! While I don't entirely agree, I appreciate the sentiment.

These guys are pushing for funding for their new approach. It sounds promising, just like fusion technology did in 1975. :)

We can power the world with [solar cells and] fuels derived from algae, today. It is only a matter of a few dollars per gallon now. Ten years ago the gap was more like $30-$50 a gallon. If fusion was advancing as fast, we would have been running on fusion by the 1970s.

And what cost over $50.00 for solar cells in the 70s, cost $0.30 now.

Its a cheap commercial on youtube. There are 100's of these commercials, all promoting themselves and part of each companies search for money.

I agree, unless of course a discovery is made on how to source zero point energy. If this is ever done, perhaps that is the long termed energy source of the future? For locked away in the quantum level is thought to be a huge source of energy. And not from fusion.

I wouldn't go that far. He was very right about some things. For example, by brilliance and perseverance, he invented the the brushless AC motor, the device that sort of drives the world now. He was a hell of an engineer.

However, he was totally wrong about how radio waves worked, and about being able to broadcast power through the earth. That is, he wasn't much of a scientist.

Naturally, something he got totally wrong is what Tesla cultists fixate on. TheMan is still suppressing Tesla's miracle technology, you know. That's why we all don't have free power and a stable full of unicorns.

Cheap energy would never be allowed to become reality. It's a bit like the alchemist who thought they would become rich if they discovered how to turn base metals into gold without realising that if they achieved their dream, gold would become worthless

Immediately after he died, the government rushed in and confiscated his most advanced technical data and left the rest behind. I suppose you think they did that because his "wrong" technology was too dangerous and harmful and not extraordinarily progressive & beneficial to the public.

You mean the government seized it two days later, quickly analyzed it, and then handed it all back to the estate.

They seized it because Tesla had bragged about possessing a super weapon. And then they gave it all back because it was just junk and nonsense.

If that's a valid official position, it's news to me. What about the story of his black box and antenna that powered his car without an engine? Cutting edge technology suggests substantiality of high voltage electrogravitics and zero point energy. Reports about extraordinary flight capabilities seen around a number of key areas such as 51, Dulce, and S-4 are shifting the momentum away from your version.

    It's a story.

Energy-wise, there is no free lunch. Stories of magical free energy are just stories.
