You should be well aware that I don't post links to things I haven't read.

Why do you think I posted a link to the actual legislation, rather than what most people do, and post a link to a liberal mouthpiece who creates propaganda about it?

Sure it is some people engage in their political "speech" by working for the campaign, some people do it by donating money because they don't have such time available. If you are going to limit one why not the other? And you can raise lots of money through small donations and have to appeal to the voters to get those and have them donate their time too. And there is no sure thing in winning.

Yes they just donate it to PACs. A distinction without a difference.

Not really. In many if not most cases the big money decides who the candidates are and then the voters get their choice of the candidates that big money has already preselected. And the big money can come from corporations, or rich donors, or just plain rich candidates.

This is the actual election, not the primary.

ElectionS. As far as for the Presidential electors there are 51 separate and unique ones. But where did you get the idea those are the only elections? Well what about all the money needed to run in all the primaries? What about Senators and Congressmen THAT is where the money is. And the yeah I decide to run in the general election in my state, my friends send me their money.

It seems to me that HR-1 helps reduce campaign donations from rich, powerful individuals, companies & corporations, in favor of money from the general public. That would reduce the behind-the-scenes impact wealthy donors currently enjoy at the expense of us all. So, I don't see this as "bad," but rather, as a first step in addressing the abuse of power by big money in our political system.
