He didn't quit -- he was fired for poor performance.

Again, that "scam" of a committee exposed Hillary's dishonesty and illegal activities. If you could strip that "D" from your chest for just a minute, you'd appreciate the value of knowing she's unfit to become POTUS. Is it OK with you that's she's lied numerous times, and put sensitive and classified information at risk??

With McCarthy having "divulged" what everyone already knew about Repubs exploiting the Benghazi tragedy as an endless vendetta calculated to lower Clinton's poll numbers, it was already time for them to try another smear.

With the latest revelation, it's inevitable.

Somehow, "She isn't tech savvy!" lacks the lurid pathos of "She killed Vince Foster!" or "She bombed Behghazi!"

The bottom feeders may yet have to resort to the extreme expedient of finding Clinton a viable opponent!

(That's after they first launch a slimeblitz at whistleblower Podesta, of course.)

All McCarty did was outline cause and effect. The Benghazi committee was formed because BHO and his merry men/women tried to push the false narrative of a video (cause). The committees' legitimate investigations exposed Hillary's criminal activity with respect to her private server (effect). Trying to exploit McCarthy's poor wording of the obvious is nothing more than left wing political gamesmanship.

BTW, the FBI doesn't investigate "smears". Hillary would be well served to listen to her inner circle and hire some serious legal representation. She's going to need it.

His openly identifying Clinton's poll numbers as the metric of the relentless fatwa's "success" merely confirmed the nature of the futile scandalquest in which Fox, Issa et al have indulged for years.

Now that a whistleblower is pounding an additional nail into the coffin of the smear scheme, the Hillary haters will have to seek yet another pretense.

It looks as if Republicans will finally have to settle for the Republican-run Intelligence Committee's official findings, even though it exonerated the Secretary of State as thoroughly as if she had been Powell or Rice in the thirteen similar tragedies under their tenures.

Republicans may now have to resort to finding a viable candidate to oppose Clinton, a task they seem to be making very difficult for themselves.

While it was an inarticulate statement it was certainly true that many of us bad warned early on three baggage would be discovered and her path to being ordained as many Democrats were already convinced, just go back a year or more here, was questionable at best. And as McCarthy noted that came to fruition going so far to a select committee and look at her numbers.

What is so upsetting to the left just pointing out the obvious other than those if us predicting this were correct.

With 100% certainty. It was know within 24 hours that the Benghazi deaths were caused by a planned terrorist attack. It was an embarrassment and insult to any thinking person to have Rice and others continuously push a fairy tale to cover the administration's behind.

The hearings did in fact contribute to dropping Hillary's poll numbers, but make no mistake why they were originally formed. McCarthy really screwed up his wording, providing chum for Hillary faithful desperate for any lifeline. But it doesn't change the original facts -- they stand on their own.

What? Politics is going on in Washington? I'm shocked!

Seems a bit hypocritical for democrats to complain that a republican led congress is leading a partisan investigation against democrats when the Obama administration used the IRS and several other law enforcement agencies on an all out partisan war against conservative pro-life and Tea Party type of groups. The congress is allowed to conduct investigations into the executive branch by the way, but it is against the laws if this country for the executive branch to use the power of the federal government against the people and target them for political purposes and try to silence their free speech rights.

Partisan or not, the Benghazi committee has put the nail in the coffin of Killiary Clinton's schemes to become our next president. Killiary Clinton's lack of action before and during the Benghazi attacks and subsequent blame the video cover-up followed by endless stalling and stonewalling by the Obama Administration has uncovered not only her crimes that she committed by mishandling classified emails, but also her starting a war in Libya at the direction of Sidney Blumenthal, who stood to profit from deals made with a post-Gaddafi government.

We now know who Sidney Blumenthal is, right?

Unfortunately for the democrats, they are not running against General Powell or Rice, so any diversion in the conversation is just to divert attention away from the complete and utter incompetence of Obama's and Killiary's leading from behind war against Libya at the direction of Sydney Blumenthal.

Let's hope that the democrats keep thinking that Killiary is a viable candidate because these attacks on her crimes, Benghazi, and email scandals will go on for a whole year. Whoever the republicans put up will easily beat Killiary and her tainted candidacy. But, it is looking ever so doubtful that she will be in the race much longer. Her falling poll numbers, thanks to the FBI investigation into her private server and handling of classified information, will likely be the nail in the coffin of her presidential aspirations.

Using the IRS to target conservative groups, silence their freedom of speech, and change the outcome of an election is not only sleazy, but a crime for which Obama should answer to when we elect a republican president. Investigating the executive branch is a function of congress. While liberals are free to cry foul and make claims of political motivation, the resulting crimes of Kiliary Clinton and the rest of the criminal cabal that make up the Obama Administration that have been exposed are no less legitimate.

Watch those who have now devoted years of their lives to the futile (Okay, McCarthy did boast that it succeeded in bringing down Clinton's poll numbers) wink, wink, nudge, nudge "investigation" now launch one of their fatwas against Podliska.

Since they are in a tizzy over their Once and Future King Boehner they inadvertently resurrected stronger than ever, they may need to go with an off-the-shelf smear campaign for the whistle blower.

They may well insist that the self-admitted "conservative Republican" is actually a foreign-born, Islamist, communist witch doctor who killed Vince Foster and fancies pantsuits as leisure attire.

Okay we will (watch). I doubt that will happen as Podliska is nobody and even if his charges are true, so what? Partisan witch hunts may be sensationalized by a partisan media but they are not illegal. Democrats have no problem when they are the ones on a partisan witch hunt, just ask Scooter Libby who was sent to jail because Richard Armitage "leaked to him [Bob Woodward] the identity of outed CIA officer Valerie Plame in mid-June 2003." So, even if charges that the Benghazi committee is partisan were true, WHATCHA GONNA DO ABOUT IT?! It's not illegal. The Congress has the right to investigate the executive branch. They've always done it. The problem for democrats is that this time they have discovered actual crimes committed by their "presumed nominee" Kiliary Clinton. And regardless if the charges of partisanship are true or not, it is true that it has had a devastating effect on Kiliary Clinton's poll numbers. :cheerleader::clapping: So it is having it's desired effect, right? WHATCHA GONNA DO ABOUT IT? :roflol:

Only Hillary's sycophantic followers would possibly claim that Boehner is stronger than ever at this point! He's out the door in a couple of weeks! That is some disconnect going on there! I'm happy to see that there are some democrats who are still willing to stand up for their RINO Speaker of the House. Surely the Freedom Caucus is more poised now than ever to deliver the death blow to the democrats strangle hold on the government. :deadhorse::democrat::deadhorse:

I suppose that could happen if they were on some sort of psychedelic psychotropic drug induced paranoid delusion which is what it would take to even imagine such a thing, I should think. But more than likely the will ignore the guy which will make his non-story drop from the news almost as fast Hillary's sinking poll numbers.

So should there be a Justice Department investigation, followed by prosecution of Gowdy and the other Republican criminals who have now been openly exposed?

I think every loyal American would say yes. Seditious partisan shills, of course, will demand that all evidence of their party's corruption be kept hidden. That's why, for example, they've all made hilariously lame excuses as to why it's good that Gowdy won't release any transcripts of the various testimony sessions. Honest people don't try to hide evidence, yet that's all Gowdy and his fanboys try to do.

Being :gop: partisan :democrat: shills is now an act of sedition? What republican criminals? The only crimes thus far exposed are the ones committed by Hillary Clinton and company. If being a partisan shill is now a crime, we would have thrown every politician in jail since Marbury vs Madison. Luckily, we live in the :unclesam: United States of America :flagus: and not the :machinegun:Union of Soviet Socialist Republics where opposition to the party means life in the gulags. I'm sure that all the transcripts of the various testimonies will be released when the committee has done it's work, just like every other investigative committee or criminal investigation operates :hiding:. Have patients. I'm sure the FBI is being fed a lot of the criminal referrals from the committee and don't want them released until they have issued their subpoenas and warrants.

If you want to hold up Podliska up as a beacon of truth, don't cherry pick his comments. He specifically stated that "I honestly do not believe this investigation was set up to go after Hillary. I believe it shifted that way". And when did it shift that way?? How about when it became clear that Hillary was performing her e-mail correspondence through a private and previously secret server. How about with each passing week, the evidence mounted that she sent and received classified correspondence within an insecure and vulnerable system? Maybe reasons to focus more attention on here sleazy and underhanded activities??

You should be thanking Podliska for confirming that the Benghazi committee was not set up for political targeting. Unless of course, your objective is to cheer on left wing political mud slinging.

Uh oh! Where's the bimbo eruption squad when you need them? First, Kathleen Wiley and now Gennifer Flowers. Get ready to be revisited by the women victims of Bill's lascivious licentiousness and Kiliary's vengeful wrath. It will be quite a fun year if the democrats are stupid enough to make her the nominee.

When it had become apparent that she would be the Democratic candidate for President of the United States, of course.

The vendetta enthusiasts will screech, "Liar! Liar! Liar!" at the whistleblower and try to smear him now, but his revelation, especially on the heels of McCarthy's openly linking the prolonged obsession to poll numbers, needs to be examined.

As in the case of the thirteen lethal terrorist attacks at overseas installations under Powell and Rice, an examination of the circumstances under which each and all occurred is entirely appropriate.

What distinguishes all those previous tragedies is that neither Rice nor Powell were expected to be the Republican presidential nominee, so the circumstances of those attacks were not exploited for partisan ends, even if Democrats were to have been as eager to contrive personal scandals out of international tragedies.

Neither of Clinton's predecessors who had been in the same position has ever lent credibility to the Hillary haters.

Quite to the contrary

Why won't hyper-partisans accept the official finding of the Republican-run House Intelligence Committee?

It discredited their fraudulent allegations, and so they feel the need to try again because Clinton is now the likely Democratic nominee.

McCarthy's candidly linking the extended ordeal to Clinton's poll numbers, and an investigator now divulging what was already widely assumed certainly do not enhance the prospects for the vendetta.

The millions of taxpayer dollars squandered during the interminable Issa follies could have been saved if conservative columnist David Brooks' January, 2014 words had been heeded: "C'mon, let's be fair, Benghazi's not Hillary's fault."

Even if that were true, so what?

What vendetta? Show me where anyone cares on the republican side? Who is going to examine it? What is the recourse? What are they (the democrats) going to do about it? I already answered to this point back in post #165 but you ignored it.

I don't know why you are attempting to derail this thread, but it is not a thread about 13 previous attacks at overseas installations. Powell and Condi Rice are not running for president. And of the 13 previous attacks, tell me which one had circumstances similar to the ones in Benghazi?

• Happened on the Anniversary of 9/11 when installations should have been under high alert
• Ambassador had been denied multiple requests for more security
• Security was actually reduced prior to attack
• Attacks had been increasing such that other countries and charities had closed their facilities
• Questionable reasons for being there in the first place
• Used suspect terror organization/militia for provide security for embassy
• Was a prolonged military assault that lasted for hours
• The ambassador was murdered
• Four Americans died, 10 injured
• No assistance or aid was sent to rescue those under attack
• No person was left in charge in Washington
• No answers have been given as to what the president or secretary of state were doing after the attacks began
• The intelligence was changed by the Administration blaming a demonstration against an internet video
• The lies about the video continued by the president, the secretary of state, and Susan Rice for days and weeks after it was well known that was a terrorist attack
• Witnesses have been intimidated and punished or demoted
• For months and years the administration has stalled and stonewalled every congressional investigation hiding witnesses, emails and other information and documents
• Sloppy, shoddy and suspect work conducted by executive branch investigations including the Accountability Review Board
• Multiple congressional investigations have found numerous wrongdoings and negligence on the part of the Administration

It wasn't an international tragedy, it was an American tragedy. Four Americans died and ten others were wounded. You tell us what is similar to the 13 aforementioned attacks under Powell and Rice?

Not exactly an glowing exculpation of the Administration when he sums up, "and maybe they shouldn't have been there in the first place."

The house Intelligence Committee's investigation didn't find any wrongdoing on the part of the Administration, because the Administration wasn't the focus of that investigation.

"The nearly two-year investigation focused on the activities of the Intelligence Community ("IC") before, during and after the attacks".

There were a total of seven prior committee investigations all of which were limited in scope. Full House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform's report Benghazi Attacks: Investigative Update - Interim Report on the Accountability Review Board, one of several reports by that committee, found many instances of neglect and wrongdoing on the part of the administration and the Accountability Review Board. Why do you never use that as an exculpatory example or measure of the Administration?

This is a bit of misdirection theater because if there were a committee investigating corruption of auto union bosses the headlines wouldn't read, "The committee found no wrong doing on the part of auto company executives" because the auto executives weren't under investigation in the first place. The report wouldn't have been an exculpation of wrongdoing on the part of auto executives either, as they weren't the subject of the investigation.

Which fraudulent allegations were discredited? Or are you just making stuff up?

McCarthy's remarks reflected a result, not a motivation. The committee is obligated to extend the investigation into any wrongdoing by any official, including Hillary Clinton. She is not immune from the investigation because she is running for president.

Let's be fair, nobody is saying that Benghazi is exclusively the fault of Hillary Clinton. Many people are at fault for what happened.

What are you pulling a Joe Biden? I just used that video to point out that republicans and democrats in Washington are partisans in post #160.

The pressing question is "Can Republicans keep the vendetta alive?"

Now that the consequently-fragged McCarthy has stated the obvious by explaining that the "success" of exploiting the Benghazi tragedy for years is to be found in Clinton's poll numbers (BILL O'REILLY: If you don't think the Benghazi thing is political, of course it's political ... if you think those guys, those Republicans on that panel don't want to bring down Hillary Clinton, you're six years old! ) ... now, US Air Force Reverse Major Bradley Podliska, PhD in Political Science and longtime conservative Republican with 15 years at a federal defense agency, an intelligence analyst for much of that time, has confirmed the obvious and expects to pay a price.

He told CNN, "What happened was wrong. I'm scared. I'm nervous. I know that this is, you know, I'm going up against powerful people in Washington. but at the end of the day I need to live with myself. I told my wife, I will view myself as a coward if I don't do the right thing here."

Will they now try to spin away McCarthy's candid admission, and smear Podliska as well as Clinton?

You haven't acknowledged that Podliska said the committee did not originally have a Clinton agenda. Of course there is now, for reasons that should be obvious even to narrow minded die hard leftists. If Podliska has confirmed the obvious with respect the the origins of the Benghazi committee, stop claiming McCarthy's words were anything more than a poorly worded slip of the tongue. That Democratic battle cry has run it's course.
