Currently, and for the past 30 years at least -- there has only been ONE PARTY who has actively tried to suppress the minority vote, The Republican party...Now if the belief among those conservatives from days gone by is that it is against their interests for minorities to be able to vote -- then all of these voter suppression games make sense.

However, I am told that conservatives are no longer racists -- and the party that considers themselves the party of conservatives (the republican party) -- are against racial discrimination -- if this is true, why do conservatives collectively try to disenfranchise minority voters??? No, it is not for the purpose of "voter integrity" -- that is a joke.

To claim that suppressing minority voters is done for the sake of voter integrity is claiming that minorities are the cause of rampant voter fraud -- which is easily proven false. For example, in the 2016 election -- despite all of the propaganda from republicans about wide spread voter fraud -- there were only 4 cases of voter fraud. The first case is that of Terri Lynn Rot --- she attempted to commit voter fraud -- and yes, she voted republican -- in fact, what she got caught for was voting for Trump twice -- because she bought into the "the elections are rigged" BS coming from Trump.

How about another case of voter fraud from the last elections -- the elections that supposedly had millions of illegal votes -- We have Phillip Cook -- he was also arrested for voting twice in which he claimed to be working for the Trump campaign, he wasn't.

Again, he doesn't seem to fit the conservative stereotype of the sneaky minority, invading our country and illegally voting. So I will ask again, what is it about minorities registering to vote in high numbers LEGALLY -- and voting in elections in high numbers -- LEGALLY that makes you panic and resort to trying to make it harder for them to vote??

Oh boy. Another liberal meme masked as a rational question.

Why does the left think so little of people, they don't think they are capable of providing the same information they would need if accessing medical care?

They tend to vote for Democrats. Simple as that. Plus they do so for what I consider illegitimate reasons. That is to obtain more government benefits.

Your premise is all wrong and silly tripe. First off I do not know Weyrich though his billing sounds impressive (if accurate). He most certainly did not found the modern conservative movement. That is universally acclaimed to be Buckley, and maybe Goldwater.
Most to the point, I do not recall any Republican, including Weyrich in you clip, trying to keep minorities from voting. Now you might find a miscreant outlier, like your silly two examples of voter fraud, but that is not relevant or probative to your assertion. Your assertion is nothing more than a trite meme taken straight from the Democrat playbook -- 'when you have nothing else, call 'em racist.'

    Not true.

You want as few minorities to vote as possible because they vote historically Dem

Rational question? I won't dignify the flamebait by addressing the question. Instead I'll ask one. How long will minorities keep up the charade of oppressive voter ID laws? Caught some pro republican caucasians cheating? Guess we need those non racist fraud prevention measures to maintain election integrity.

"Honest question for Republicans"... then posts obvious lie.

Accompanied by video... from the 80s... of someone I've never heard of as "the father of the conservative movement??"

Guess what? in the 80s, DEMOCRATS were still campaigning and running on segregation and racism... vocally. Were they the "fathers of today's Democratic Party?"

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._B._Stoner

    Get honest.

Do they not realize how badly they caricature themselves?

But OK, I don't want everyone voting. I don't want people voting after they die or noncitizens. I don't want people who can't read English voting, nor people who live off tax revenues in applicable elections. Care given for what color they are as long as they are literate in English, citizens, don't live on tax revenues and are alive? 0.

I'm an old guy, been through a great many elections- and I have yet to see objections to minority voting by the right, never even heard anyone even suggest it. They are citizens, just like I am, they have a right and an obligation to do so.

However, I do object to non-citizens voting, and we see the democrats both promoting the influx of aliens and attempting to give them voting rights.

Your hound is barking at the wrong tree here.

Says the people promoting the unlimited influx of aliens, and trying to allow them voting rights.....
And the people sabotaging the oppositions campaign.....
And the people who use person insults of candidates as a substitute for lack of factual issues...
And the people promoting public harassment of those who don't agree with them......

Long, long list. No repubs on it.

BOTH are true- and you aren't nearly as stupid as you would have to be to not know that. Denial of knowledge does not change fact, Lesh- except in you mind.

Start with California- all of it.

Both practices are going on strongly there right now, and in the news.
Lots of other places too, but in CA they make it the center piece of their logic.

    LOL

Actually, the motivation is a little different. If a potential voter is too stupid to figure out how to provide the same kind of information they need to get medical care, it's better they chill and don't bother with such complex tasks.

Honest Question For Republicans -- Why Don't You Want Minorities To Vote??

This isn't an honest question - in fact it is a plurium interrogationum fallacy, where you assume the statement in your question is true.

If you wanted to be honest, you'd ask why Republicans do not want people who cannot legally vote to vote.

This is my problem with folks like you -- this insistence of playing dumb -- knowing damn well when I post more and more links of Republicans actively trying to suppress minority voters -- you will continue to find a way to ignore it....

As Weyrich said, their leverage in elections goes down as the voting populous goes up -- the full context that he was referring to was that of more and more minority voters turning out to vote...

So I will ask again...show me one democratic state official or state party that is actively trying to disenfranchise voters

Matter of fact, I am almost certain you believe millions upon millions of minorities voted illegally in the last election --- care to provide any links that prove it?

So far, the only person who has provided any proof of voter fraud has been me.....and those who committed where not "minorities"

Still waiting for this proof to be provided...

I have been the only person who has provided any factual evidence of voter fraud -- and the people who did it were white and republican....
