Hope Trump has a good explanation for this!

    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/21/...-suspect-court-trump-sessions-guantanamo.html

Although the NY times has proven itself to be like the Enquirer as of late spreading conspiracy theories that in no way even begin to resemble the truth, this particular story caught my eye and I felt the need to comment.

According to that newspaper and I use that term loosely, Trump is backing off his hard line stance regarding sending all terrorists straight to Guantanamo Bay because he felt they didn't deserve the same rights as citizens and he was right. Why should taxpayers foot the bill for them to run their nasty asses through our court system with appeal after appeal? But now Trump wants to do the latter and send them to court instead. If this is indeed true Trump better have a good explanation for it.

Even though I was a Trump supporter, I am getting a bit tired of Trump's softening or flip flopping on virtually every campaign issue that we the American people voted him into office for. If we wanted business as usual or the status quo we could have grabbed any of the other GOP schmucks on stage at the primaries which there was an over abundance of.

Although immigration is down, how long will that last if Trump keeps softening? And therefore, we need that wall built as he said he would do. And if they can't repeal Obamacare then the GOP needs to fix the parts that are failing. Beyond that Trump needs to do as he originally stated and that is stop funding sanctuary cities until they in turn stop harboring illegals.

    Oh and then there was this BS;

    http://thehill.com/homenews/news/30...gn-workers-to-staff-private-resort-in-florida

This from a president who has been advocating the exact opposite and getting Americans back to work and off entitlement programs. There are plenty of Americans who would love those jobs.

Trump has been a Democrat his entire life and flip flopped in several key stances all at once only a few years ago and you wonder why he is turning liberal on some issues now that he won the election? LOL

And he will continue to soften, flip flop, deflect, etc. He figured the "job" at the west wing would be a cake walk, lol, well he's got a rude reception, Congress and Senate aren't exactly playing to his tune, Donny's not used to someone saying no to him, and I'm sure it drives him crazy.

If I were President, I would have them stand trial. Sending them o GITMO to avoid ever having a trial is riddiculous

No one was "had". We gave Trump a chance and we will judge him by his results and his effort in 2020.. The corrupt, elitist, race baiting, lying "you can keep your doctor and save $2,500", "we'll legalize illegals and keep the borders open" , "we'll keep shipping jobs to China", "you're deplorables" crowd did not deserve a chance, neither did their Republican establishment counterparts.

Better than detaining them with no trial. If they are bad guys and terrorists it shouldn't be hard to convict them.

The expense of Gitmo far exceeds civilian incarceration. The best action for those who fit the Gitmo mold is immediate deportation to the home country. If revenge or retribution is required we simply air drop them back to their home....sans a parachute.

So given the U.S.'s ridiculous judicial system and record of letting criminals walk, where the socialist left and ACLU will probably come to the terrorists aid with the best lawyers money can buy in tow who will end up getting them off on some technicality probably claiming Islamaphobia abuse, but not before they've exhausted the system and costed tax payers a fortune on appeal after appeal, you think that's a good idea? REALLY?

You do realize in the U.S. court system these animals will have all the same rights as U.S. citizens, right? And you trust and would like to see the decision left up to those same federal judges that leave people aghast everyday on the news who constantly allow horrible criminals off, many of which Obama the Muslim appointed? You know like William Orrick of San Francisco who stopped Trump from defunding sanctuary cities, and Derrick Watson of Hawaii who stopped Trump's travel ban and still managed to overpower the supreme court enough to get them to dumb down that ruling so much, they might as well have not even bothered. I mean they're letting practically everyone in anyway so what's the point?

The problem is, if the election was redone and held again today, I would still vote for Trump over Hillary the Corrupt who I KNOW would have been a thousand times worse. I'm an avid researcher of the Clinton's and the entire left as a matter of fact. I spent the last eight years researching them and therefore, know they're ALL corrupt beyond imagination. No matter what Trump does, thus far he has had no actual blood on his hands ...not so for the left. Many have died due to their corruption.

Not really...but as I basically stated in the first sentence, even though I don't trust them, once in a while they probably state something true and therefore just in case this was one of those times, I wanted to say how dissatisfied and disappointed I'd be IF I found out it was true.

So you have pronounced them guilty without knowing anything about them and have judged that they aren't even worthy of a trial because others might be too ignorant to agree with you? The reasons US citizens have rights is to stop the mentality you just displayed.

I am not a big fan of the Clintons - I never voted for Slick Willie (voted for Perot 2 elections) and only voted for Hillary because Trump is a con man and showed appalling ignorance of world affairs.
I don't think Hillary is as clean as driven snow, but she has no convictions - like money laundering as does Trump's NJ casino, or fraud for his bogus "university", and for you to claim Clinton's are responsible for deaths is downright stupid.

Why can't Liberals distinguish between legal and illegal immigration? Is it really that hard to understand? Not a single Republican is against legal immigration or work visas. It's true that they don't support sanctuary criminal laws, that doesn't mean they are against work visas given out in a legal and regulated manner.

This thread is FAKE PREMISE NEWS.

If they had all the evidence in the world and they actually held a legitimate trial (as opposed to a kangaroo military court where due process is non-existent) they should easily be able to get a guilty verdict. That they're indefinitely detained without a trial and with no due process protections sounds very much like they have very little or nothing. And based on the fact that many of them were tortured, never tried and eventually released without charges only validates that point. Label anyone a "terrorist" and he should automatically be tortured and indefinitely detained, that's how it works in the land of the free. That used to be called war crimes.

“We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We must remember always that accusation is not proof and that conviction depends upon evidence and due process of law." - Edward R. Morrow
