Republicans are the ones currently encouraging a president to seek foreign assistance against a domestic political opponent.

Let's make a hypothetical. If you accept the Presidents ability to exert absolute immunity and to stop testimony wholesale, what prevents a future President from ordering someone to commit an explicit felony and then to subsequently declare that person is immune from testifying?

The fact the felony is known as it is in your statement.

    That's your argument?

I will try to make the hypothetical more clear.

If you accept the Presidents ability to exert absolute immunity and to stop testimony wholesale, what prevents a future President from ordering a top administration official to kill John Smith because Smith looked at the President incorrectly and then to subsequently declare that top administration official is immune from testifying?
