It needs to be done regardless of who does it. I just don't think Trump is focused on that. I see Biden pushing it hopefull with congress's blessing.

Trump isn't, but if Congress puts it on his desk, he will sign it

be nice if Trump would push for it though, but Trump is more concerned about his wounded ego right now - if Trump doesn't push for it, doubt the Senate passes it or even votes on it

but if it does come across Trump's desk, he will take credit and it will go in the history books just the same

Reading today that my state legislature will be voting on medical in 2021. It almost passed two years ago. It did then in Florida and now Mississippi it is very likely to pass. They only thing is it maybe limited to oils and gells, no smoked stuff. They article talked to a Vape shop owner in then next to me bigger city and they have already been in discussions with officials on being the first distribution point.
If they are going to do it all versions should be available and let the user decide.

We don't go skiing as a family in Colorado anymore. It's not because we're opposed to marijuana. It's because we can't go to Breckenridge without hitting up a dispensary. I can't be high around my kids.

Of course weights and standards should apply. Any listing of THC content must be done under some acceptable standard like with alcohol content. And of course we don't want edibles that don't meet FDA standards or plant stuff that does not meet USDA for poisons and such. Same standard as tobacco that is smoked or chewed. But that for commercial sales. Private exchanges should be up to the giver and receiver including bartering.

The federal that is up just eliminates federal penalties from what I understand I haven't read it or anything. It will be up to the states as far as any law enforcement then. That is the one reason our Rep SecState opposes even medical, because it would conflict with federal law and the constitution says federal law trump state law.

Sure. And I'd be 100% behind the idea of someone with a plant or two in their backyard Id want to see it legal, and as you said, regulated for commercial sales.

I was .. you were the one that brought up Obamacare . Lipstick on a Pig - and in no way excuses Obama's lack of attention to civil liberty - and in fact a complete 180 when it comes down to it .. Obama was horrible.

    yep, times are changing

I remember growing up, in my state all alcohol was sold in just one approved alcohol store, that was all they sold, was a big change when gas stations and grocery stores could sell them

It won't get by this senate. Maybe the next senate will put the odds of getting it through in a stronger position.

There was no way Obama was going to get a bill passed with a Republican Senate and a Republican House following the election in 2018. Demcrats lost too many seats.

Yes indeed - one small step (stroke of a pen) for Trump - one big leap for liberty :)

Right - so we should never try anything - because the Red Senate will not pass it - another argument from the bizarre.

Suppose Tulsi should never have tabled the "Stop Arming Terrorist Act" - cause she knew that the Dem House would never pass it. Is this what you are suggesting ?

if Trump drove it, it would, but seem Trump is too busy trying to steal the election to see the historic value in him signing such a bill

Really, you want to compare legalizing dope to passing a Terrorist Act? Now that is bizarre!

Do you really think Sen. McConnell? would pass a bill legalizing marijuana? He won't even pass a covid relief bill for people who are in desperate need. Trump has very little clout left. He's a lameduck president. And you're right, he's to busy trying to overturn the election.

I think he would if Trump made it a issue and pushed McConnell on it, republicans fear Trump

heck, McConnell might just be happy Trump was thinking of something else then stealing the election.... as that is harder for him to support

Trump is not driving a stimulus bill either, I think McConnell would cave to Trump on either.... Trump is just more concerned with his bruised ego then the people

I didn't compare them - I was giving you examples of why your logic is so flawed - the examples were not compared.

You are claiming that those in congress should not try to pass bills if those bills do not have enough support to pass. Giving you examples of why this may not be such a good idea - is not comparing those examples.

You are starting to engage in a fallacious dance - rather than support your position.

Trump proposed a $1.8T relief package that McConnell refused to vote on. Not all Republicans fear Trump. And every day as we near January 21st Trump loses clout.
