    He wrote a letter

    Whooop de do!

It is replete with accusations but surprisingly short on references to reports, investigations, reviews, tabulated data and previous correspondence that normally would accompany a formal missive of this kind

Don't need much evidence, it seems pretty clear that California has wasted enough of our Federal taxes. Nothing changed, instead things are getting worse. Let them take care of their problems with their ridiculously high taxes. Their housing costs are ridiculous due to over regulation of building codes, high property taxes and the like.

They have a rat problem but don't want to use pest control because it might harm the environment. Better they start a plague? What a joke.

Actually the letter states that more Housing Choice Vouchers to CA will not be granted. The letter also states facts comparing the homeless rate of CA to the rest of the U.S. There's also a section which describes CA very high homeless rate even after adjusted for very high property pricing and preferable weather.

You know someone else wrote it, he just signed it. Probably didn't even read it.

Don't know if that is necessary. For me, this poop chart of San Francisco would be enough:

It represents civilizational failure on a completely unprecedented scale in America. The most disgusting aspect of this is the insistence by the MSM (the democracy dies in darkness crowd) that there is nothing to see there. Too interested in faux outrage to give a damn about real human suffering I guess.

FYI, CA pays more in federal taxes than it receives.

Can you cite a source of the current status of CA that refutes mine? This subject interests me and I’m always on the hunt for better, newer information.

States shouldn’t compete for federal money. It should either be cut off or distributed per capita or something. That would have its own set of problems too. But states subsidizing states is not a good idea in my opinion. On that we agree. I do think you over generalize the red/blue aspect. I’m from a red contributor state. There are a lot of factors in play besides voting histories of states.

Yes. Your data is from 2017. Mine is current and shows California has fallen off the list of net contributors.

    The
    Have you moved to California?
What the Trump administration is doing as if it were any of your business anyway, is involve the EPA which for Aussie's is the Environmental Protection Agency started by Republican President Richard Nixon, and they will attempt to hold California responsible for all the pollution that comes with the homeless along the beach and fine CA for the cleanup.
Sounds like a plan which is far better than the huge Australian recycling mess they have over there. I will let you research that tragedy.

    This is non-partisan.

Is it me... or have the numbers of homeless EXPLODED recently? It's like someone opened a flood gate that no one knew about. I know there are a bunch of junkies, but I don't see a reason for the massive increase. Any thoughts?
