And when Republicans win Democrats will throw another tantrum and try to change the rules again.

    When Democrats lose, excuses ensue.

That's a post full of hurt feelings and devoid of facts.

The founders designed America to be a Republic which is exactly why America became the most free country on Earth.

You mean like gerrymandering to make it easier to get elected?

How democratic was the Democratic primary? Your super delegates were no different than the EC, in fact worse because they were put in place to lock out any grass roots candidate that might upset the DNC candidate, yet you only complain about the EC. Probably because you lost. With the electoral college there isn't any locking anybody out. If you'd prefer another country you know where the borders are.

:roflol:I've got no skin in this game dude I'm not a american...it's your entire democratic system that's screwed up and undemocratic I'm just not happy we don't have it...for a nation that brags about being free and democratic you've got one of the most undemocratic and unfair electoral systems in the western world....it's verging on comedic banana state politics...and that maybe an insult to banana republics

A great point the whiners are unlikely to want to address.

I do, and it warps the popular vote which is why it should be outlawed. No other advanced democracy employs it as much as the US does not manipulate the popular-vote.

The relative impact of gerrymandering by state in the US from the NYT:
How the New Math of Gerrymandering Works

America is a Republic. Not a Democracy.

How did you not know that?

Conservatives will NEVER give up the electoral college. Its the only way they can get people elected to the presidency. They havent won a popular vote in decades.

We need not "give it up", which is - yes -difficult since it is written in the constitution.

All we need do is require the Electoral College is to report the popular-vote results and ONLY THE POPULAR-VOTE results to Congress.

Like all other bona-fide democracies on earth do ... !

We are a Republic not a Democracy. We don't need to emulate other countries just for the sake of uniformity. The EC doesn't gather votes, the states do. Watch any channel on election night and no one is tallying total votes, just EC votes. I don't know why you don't know this.

Or, more accurately, we are a democratic republic.
