Simply that CO2 emissions can be expressed as the product of four inputs: population, GDP per capita, energy use per unit of GDP, and CO2 emissions per unit of energy. Is that really hard to understand?

 

Is reducing an expression to it's simplest form really that hard to understand? What that means is that Population, GDP, and Energy are superfluous to the equation.

 

When there is no direct measurement of human CO2 emissions, how are these factors superfluous to the equation? Would you care to suggest a better method of calculating human CO2 emissions?

 

They are superfluous because they cancel themselves out. Dang, beginning to wonder now.

 

We know what the Population, GDP, and energy production of a given country are, but not their CO2 emissions. If the units didn't cancel each other out and leave what you are looking for, then you would know that the equation is wrong. The fact that it can be reduced to CO2 = CO2 means that the equation is correct. Why is this so hard for you to understand?

 

I did say you had to know something about math. Why don't you quit while you are behind.
