Meh. I made six hard boiled eggs a few days ago. 2 pealed fine without a hitch, 4 the shell stuck to the egg like super glue and lost half the white.

It's a love hate relationship for me.

I got an automatic hard-boiled egg thing and no longer have the least bit of trouble peeling them.

    There are a few tricks.

Never use extremely fresh eggs. They will alway resist having the shell removed when hard boiled.

Second, heat them up quickly by adding them to already-hot water and then bringing the pot to boil as quickly as possible. Then simmer about ten minutes for hard boiled.

Immediately remove the cooked saucepan of eggs from the burner, drain, rinse in two or three potfulls of cold tap water, and then immediately place in the fridge to cool down further.

If all of the above are done your eggs should shell easily.
