Heres our advice on how to spot a fake: Consider the source. Read beyond the headline. Check the author: Whats the support? Check the date Is this some kind of joke? Check your biases. Unfortunately, now-a-days, you need multiple different news sources reporting the same thing, to get an idea what and how news is being reported. Five is a good number. They also left out the major influence corporately owned media has on reporting things. In reality, fake news has been around ever since the printing press. This is nothing new.
Real news puts out fakes news. Find the raw data. Video, audio, stats from government websites. Don't pay attention to quotes cut out of context or articles that use other articles as their source. Find consistency between two or more news with opposing ideologies and throw away the rest.
