From the Guardian: The missing six weeks: how Trump failed the biggest test of his life

    Excerpt:
This awesome incompetence of a PotUS, demonstrated only a few weeks after a Replicant Senate failed to get rid of him, has become his hallmark. He now clearly deserves a good-riddance.

It will be senseless for him to run again for office and given the evidence, he should be relieved immediately. That wont happen, so in the meantime many, many Americans may well die from his professional-negligence ...

Check out Bluesguy's postings. According to him the president had no obligation or responsibility. The failure was that of the differing state Governors.

Blatantly wrong. He's not responsible for "causing" the pandemic but he is most responsible for fighting it.

And if not Donald Dork, who? Donald Duck ... ?

Don't misrepresent what I say or put words in my mouth, take it up in that forum where I'm waiting for you to show how Trump has taken over NY and NYC and CA.

So Trump has taken over NY, NYC, CA? Trump is responsible for setting up the hospitals and directing those hospitals and state and county health officials and managing the care being given?

If news agencies had any credibility or any ethics morals or even any humanity left on their souls. They'd set aside their partisanship for a few weeks till this emergency is over..

But they don't so they won't showing that they are the scum of the earth. I highly recommend everyone not listen to them.

Yeah, right, so when somebody attacks America, he's going to ask the state governors to hand over the National Guard to fight them!

You're picking&chosing the responses that please you to defend a feckless PotUS who deserved to be put out-of-office. But was not done due to an even more irresponsible political-party that had a majority in the Senate and refused the indictment impeaching him.

What planet do you live on ... ?

I'm not sure of that. It is entirely possible the Donald Dork will be reelected in November.

He lost the popular-vote the first time around and became PosUS. Under the same rules, he could lose it again the second-time around and still be elected PotUS.

Americans have not yet understood that they have a deeply faulty electoral system due to both the Electoral College and Gerrymandering. And whyzat? Because its Civics Education is basically faulty.

From here: The Failure of US Civics Education

Worthy of a good read ...

It's interesting to see that most authorities failed in the west, beyond some political colors. Macron, centrist, failed, Salvini, right wing, failed, Spanish government, left wing, failed, Johnson, right wing failed.

At a state level, many people failed also, that's true for DeBlasio.

It doesn't remove any responsibility to Donald Trump, until now, I was more tired of Donald basher than Trump himself, but on that episode, he failed with no doubt allowed.

From my point of view, it show the global decay of the western world.

Local, state and county governments are completely at the mercy of federal competence. They don’t all have manufacturing facilities and connections to prepare for global pandemics. Only the feds do. The fed under Trump has dropped the ball. Everyone else suffers. All the incompetent people in the world can work their asses off. They are still incompetent. A federal government that has worked for three years to diminish and belittle the science capacity of its own administration, it now depends upon, is playing a losing game at the public’s expense.

I don't deny that, but even if they have very little power, they have some, and they didn't reacted.

They reacted......and are now. They are competing with each other for help along with the feds. It’s what happened in ww2 with out strong central governments and allies in Europe, cities were left to defend themselves agaisnt Germany. Pandemics require the same central gov. and allied cooperation. Trump and the gop spent three years dismantling both. Everyone on the right hates the Fed.....until it’s too late to depend upon it.

So....they're comparing two entirely different countries. One small, one large. Both have a completely different culture and response to government and different laws. What a failure of an article. It's funny how the left loves diversity...but then act like two completely different groups are exactly the same when it suits their political purposes.

Do NOT put words in my mouth. Sorry you do not have a grasp of our federal system and emergency response. Is Gov. Cuomo or Mayor de Balsio screaming for Trump to come and take over their jobs? The governors of CA and WA? Have all the state and county and city health agencies and emergency responders been federalized?

No, they just don't have the resources necessary to fight this disease, nor do they have the coordinated control needed to make them all work well together. This is as if the control of the Mississippi floods was to be left entirely to the States rather than given largely to the Army Corps of Engineers.

States by their very nature cannot mount even a regional response let alone the National/Worldwide response this emergency needs. Conservative jerktards apparently want us all to die in a morass of their inhuman ideology and bigotry.

Seriously. Since when does a city have a budget in the trillions. Since when can a city keep a stand by pandemic task force on the ready.

Trump did. Then, he eliminated it. So yes, after Trump took over, the Fed had more the preparedness of a city then it should. Don’t blame cities with their comparable puny budgets and resources. Cities don’t have any national defense units, military or medical preparedness . After Trump....who knows.

It's nothing like the Corp of Engineers and federal responsibility of intercoastal waterways. States are responsible for their emergency responses, the federal government assist. It's the local governments who know who the doctors are who the hospitals are, what theneess of the local population are, where their supplies arehave trained constantly with them. NOT the Feds. We are a federal system.

We HAD the best pandemic in the world. It’s now home made face masks instead. We’re going to look like a country of Muslims. Trump had us out dancing by Easter.
Btw, do you know the difference between billion and trillion ?
