Read about the. Soviet Russian invasion of Hungary in 1956 when Russian troops stole watches from Hungarian civilians. The Russians walked up to Hungarians pointed guns at them and said “chasi” and stole wrist watches. Recorded in history.
So why would today’s invading Russians behave any different,. Answer they behave the same as those in 1956. They behaved badly in WWII.

What you state is so true. The Russians on this and other sites I used to be on seem to whine that someone somewhere for some reason hates them. Russia even back under the Czars have committed ethnic cleansing , banned the Ukrainian language , banned Ukrainian culture and on and on. In the 1930 the Russians committed genocide by hunger and killed 5-6 million Ukrainians. From 1939 through the early 1950’s Russians committed more murders using the NKVD. Russians sent countless people to Siberian prison camps. Two of them my grandfathers. Russians boiled Ukrainian Catholic priest in oil. Russians killed Ukrainian Catholic nuns by crushing them with tanks. Early 1940 Russians. Murdered 12,000 Polish army officers, intellectuals, businessmen and probably 20% of the victims where Ukrainian and Jewish. I could go on and on.

Western Ukrainians where my families are from were nationalists therefore knew that Russian behavior is that of monsters. Eastern Ukrainians found out that they were friendly with and trusted monsters. Trust has been lost for for centuries I hope.

 

Ukrainians are not oppressed in the past! Was oppressed serf peasants without nationality. And not in the past "ukrainians", were "maloross" part of russians folks. It's only propaganda that russians oppressed ukrainians.

It looks you are trying to prove Russian soldiers lack intelligence. The fact is that Russia is a poor country and most Russian soldiers are from the most poor parts of Russia. For poor soldier a microwave oven or stereo equipment or washing machine is a huge treasure. Don't you think Russian soldier lack intelligence how to transport these treasures home to make his wife or his parents happy?
Russian army has tradition of robbing and stealing from civilians - I read many stories how during WWII Russian soldiers were robbing not only Germans, but people from any country they free. Technically, you can attach many items to a tank, even washing machines, but if you are an officer you can load all theses loot into a track and send it home.

Chekhov is very famous, but his plays seem boring to me. There was a very good playwriter Alexey Ostrovsky, but he is not well known in the West. Bulgakov wrote good plays too.

There are historical documents where russians a mentioned. There are many such documents, including European ones . And ukrainians are not mentioned anywere. Even Gogol, who alvays wrote aboute Ukraine, never used the word "ukrainan" and did not himself a ukrainian.
