Conception, the moment to the two human gametes, the sperm and the ovum, join to for a new human being. You don't follow the science?

Tumors are not human BEINGS, they are a PART, an out of control PART, of a human being, a mistake by the body. You in your current stage of your human life are made up of LOTS of parts, different kinds of parts, tissues, organs, fluids, bones but you started out as ONE CELL which processed quickly through the first few days and started specializing into the various functions of those stages of life.

I do which is why I know you are wrong because “personhood” has nothing to do with science

So, if this is your definition why are you not upset about the tens of thousands of fertilised eggs flushed down the sewer each year?

And funny thing - none of you lot seem to be interested in saving born babies and children

Like you (used to be), I'm pro-choice when it comes to whats legal, and pro-life when it comes to whats moral.

It seems to me to be less of an issue of definition (as in, is an unborn baby a 'human'- of course it is!), but the question is whether it should be illegal to kill that human.

Just for the sake of argument- consider whether it should be legal or not to shoot someone who is running away with your life savings. Also consider whether or not its wrong to shoot them. If you don't get your life savings back, you lose your mortgaged house and your car gets reposessed so you lose your job and your medical insurance... I'm betting we both agree it should be legal and its not wrong to prevent yourself from being destituted by a thief. But what if you stupidly left your life savings sitting out on your front porch while you went inside to watch TV? Does that make it any different? Seems to me it becomes more your own fault at this point... might change whether its wrong to shoot them. But it doesn't change whether or not it should be legal to protect your livlihood.

This is all to demonstrate why we need to maintain a disconnect between what is immoral/wrong and what is illegal/unlawful.

I empathize with the disgust you feel toward people who try to argue for abortion by claiming the unborn arent human... that argument is a disingenuous misdirection by people who DO think it should be illegal to shoot a thief to protect your livlihood and who DO think we should be able to use the government to forcefully vaccinate people and who DO think it should be up to a commitee to decide how best to use the fruits of your labor. They can't use the 'choice' argument anymore because they only support your right to choose what they think is right. They arent really 'pro-choice', they just love abortion. But just because they don't value the right to choose anymore doesn't mean its no longer important.

Kal'Stang, I do not wish to take away your choice to have a baby or not, your choice

no one should be forced to abort or have a baby

Nope, can still use choice and are pro-choice. You guys still don't understand that things are different.

I also agree with Oregon's laws on doctor assisted suicide

that should be the person's choice, not the governments

just say no to "big government" being forced on you

And you still can't explain any of your arguments, apparently. Just out of curiosity, do you find it compelling when someone replies to you by just saying 'you're wrong'?

If not, I have to wonder what it is then that you think you're accomplishing...

Pro choice advocates declare that life begins at the moment the mother wants the baby and not a second before.

Generally: what did I say that you disagree with, and why do you disagree with it?

    More specifically:
    What's 'pro-choice' about forced vaccination?

    What guys? What's different?

I guess, though unsure why it matters. An embryo is not a being, either. Beings have minds.

Any nucleated cell could be made totipotent to clone you with sufficient technology. And if this was done, they would be another person once they have a mind.

Yep, this stuff is already here, it's just not commercially available yet, and of course, there's a whole bunch of ethics issues that remain unanswered....but it's coming, and it's going to blow conservatives' heads apart for sure. Abortion would be a walk in the park to the mental flip flops of having to wrap your head around human cloning.

This part is right, they only support your right to choose what they think is right. Because things are different You see people should be forced vaccination who are carrying a contagious disease which can spread to other people. Being pregnant is NOT CONTAGIOUS.

Thats not choice in any meaningful way. If people can't choose what you think is wrong, then they don't really have any choice.

So you believe that people having a contagious disease have the right to spread it to other people?

You mean people who might have a contagious disease, which is LITERALLY EVERYONE, all the time, including the vaccinated. People who are clearly ill can be justifiably kept away from others to prevent the spread of infection. But we're not talking about people who are clearly ill, are we?

No its not, but you do realize that because of this anti-vaxx attitude dangerous diseases like measles are making a comeback.

Pretty sad one can be so influenced by propaganda.
One needs to have convictions and believe in their own convictions. And not let some far out nutters make their choices.

Which seems to be the basis of the OP. Typical talking points that was not in agreement. And it influence a decision to change.

I admit, I changed my position from when I was young.
    Dead set against abortion.
Then I realized, I can not nor should not be part of a group to dictate other's lives. I have not walked in their shoes.

What do you mean? Are you suggesting the vaccinated can't get or transmit infectious disease?

Define 'comeback' in the context of this graph from the CDC... I think your information is about 3 years out of date.
