It wouldn't happen here in America because there are always supposed to be TWO people in the cockpit at all times, never just one.

    - - - Updated - - -

You think what is cultural? Crashing airplanes? Mental illness? What?

whites massacring their own with alarming regularity [if western society is supposed to be so much more advanced that the middle east]. im thinking a the school shootings alone. these are children for heavens sake, why does it happen so much?

Ha-ha! Take a look at Islam in the ME. Those people have been massacring one another for centuries. Blowing up themselves along with hundreds of others at a time. What do you have to say about that?

blacks murder their own in mass shooting at a MUCH higher rate, than whites.

its a daily occurence in many of our larger inner cities.

School shootings and mass shootings are LESS THAN 1% of all homicides. Perhaps you should know the facts before you speak?

    - - - Updated - - -

Black on black gang murders are what actually bring our homicide levels up. THAT is one of our biggest problems.

ending prohibition would put a huge dent in the funding of new and existing gangs

sounding like it, though had it been a Muslim many would be arguing that fact even if the same evidence was provided

well that and a preacher has come out and said he went to Sunday school there, it's a good bet he was not Muslim, though his religion has not been released yet that I am aware

What is MY excuse? Are you making some kind of an accusation? Again, those types of shootings are less than 1% of all homicides. If you were truly concerned, you would focus on the inner city black community.

Islam kills children every day. Get the mote out of your own eye.

Also, you notice that these killings take place in "gun free zones?" Hmm. Interesting, right?

could be as simple as they already know the religion.... so do not want to go there

fact is, the guy was a nut case, he was suicidal and wanted to do it in a plane

someone said he wanted to kill himself without it appearing as a suicide, he did not care about the passengers, only that when he died it would not look like suicide, that sounds very plausible to me

That is exactly what you just did. First on your list of things to look at once discovering it was intentional was religion. Whether or not you grasp why you are doing what you are doing, what you are doing is supporting my argument.

This was why I also eliminated Islam as a likely answer... after all, how many white people in general follow Islam?

However again... most depressed people dont want to kill a bunch of people... that usually takes a combination of twisted ideological framing behind an unstable mind.

"Hometown pastor says community stands by co-pilot, family"

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/world...23d890-d612-11e4-bf0b-f648b95a6488_story.html

the preacher had this to say

"“The co-pilot, the family belong to our community, and we stand by this, and we embrace them and will not hide this, and want to support the family in particular,” Dietrich said."

"Dietrich, the pastor, said he knew Lubitz as a teenager, when he attended religious education 13 years ago, and his mother, who worked as a part-time organist in the community."

Ok, then maybe I misunderstood the position you were taking. If I was then I apologize.

As for this particular guy, i'll never understand that kind of thinking. That things are so bad that not only do you have to go, but you have to take a planeload of innocent people with you. Unless something comes up though, I think this is going to end up as one of those creepy mysteries.

I agree. It's one thing to take your own life. When you involve a bunch of innocents, you are a monster, IMO. (YOU in the general sense, of course )

Well, he was sane enough that he could "hide" his issues. There is no excuse for his actions, as far as I'm concerned. Instead of trying to hide his illness and killing a bunch of innocent people who were screaming and crying for their lives as he was crashing their plane, he should have sought help. What a horrible human being. I don't care if he was mentally ill. Plenty of people are mentally ill and don't do these kinds of things. Twisted, most definitely. I don't have any pity for him at all. None.

they did say he was dr shopping, but then when they listed the doctors two of them were something else like eye doctors or something, so not for sure he was dr shopping for mental health or not

not sure I like the term "dr shopping" in a case like this, I think of that more as a bad thing, in a case like this where your looking for a doctor that can actually help you, there has to be a better term

What does that have to do with my post? I don't care what he was shopping for, and I don't care if he killed himself. What I DO care about is the 150 innocent lives (of people who did NOT want to die) he took with him. The bastard.

I was responding to your post - you said "he should have sought help"

i was just responding with what I have read, don't shoot the messenger...

I too think what he did was terrible, that is a given for everyone I think, don't think I have seen anyone defend his actions

I do not get cases like this, Andrea Yates was another, yeah she was a nut case, but it's still Murder as she still knew enough to know what she was doing, same is true in this case

Well, I apologize for misunderstanding your point.

However, I'm not a newbie to political forums, and I really wouldn't be surprised to see some people having some sort of pity for this monster.

Let's look at the facts. According to his GF, he had been having nightmares about crashing planes. That tells me that he had this idea in his head and didn't bother to seek help, or to take a leave from his job. He hid his illness and the fact that he was suicidal from his employers. He premeditated this crime when he talked the captain into leaving to take a "bathroom break" and locked him out of the cockpit. This was premeditated murder/suicide.

    - - - Updated - - -

Just imagine the horror for those poor people once they realized exactly what was happening. My God. I can't believe a person could be SO cold hearted. It's unforgivable, IMO.

Agreed for the most part, but one minor correction, there are 2 religions trying to rule by way of theocracy, Islam and Christianity. In fact, if you are hungry, eat either a Bible or a Quran, they are both full of baloney :)

i agree, and your right, had he lived some would be defending him saying he should be found not guilty because of his mental illness, which I would disagree with
