I predict Trump will skip the debates against anyone other than Biden

Yeah he is quite rowdy and controversial when it comes to statements and comments, so many got irked that's why he is beinmg branded the orange man. But we will see, it would be a great challenge of the moderator as well.

I don't think the DNC will let Sanders win regardless of the votes.
Trump would tear Sanders apart just as he would Warren.

Everything lacks credibility to the left unless it's an attack on Trump. You would think that by now, the pattern that establishes would be obvious even to the people doing it, but- obviously not.

He doesn't have to do anything. These debates are awful. They keep discussing ridiculous things only fringe people care about. Each debate since 2019 has been very poorly received, it's got now former democrats running away screaming. Just being their crazy selves is serving Trump. I don't think Biden will be the front funner though, but if he does, he'll likely have difficulties mustering up anything to say that can excel Trump's... demeanor, so to speak. His dentures will probably fall out and he'll forget where he is again, then Trump will fire off a witty retort and get everyone cheering. Overall, Trump's best strategic move is to just let the debates between the democrats happen so they make fools of themselves longer.

 

So long as he's not under oath, he can lie his head off. He knows that regardless of what happens he will be proclaimed the "winner" by his faithful and by Fox. Everybody else will beg to differ, but he doesn't care.

 

Yeah, this is a big part of why I think he'd skip out on the debates. He has complete control of the narrative with the venues he chooses to speak in right now. Too much that can be brought out without his control at a debate. I still think that he'll skip out completely, but barring that, I bet the first would be a disaster and he'd call off the other two.

It also really looks like his faculties aren't where they were in 2015 and 2016. He fixates on particular ideas and phrases, and there seems to be an occasional disconnect between his brain and mouth. I have a family member with verbal apraxia, and there are times when Trump's speech is very similar to that. No idea if it's the kind of thing that can happen with advanced age, but stress and confusion make it worse. If he does do a debate and severely stutters or locks up altogether at times, it would be easy to imagine him doing everything possible to avoid that situation again.
