Sounds ridiculous on first glance, but think past your emotions. We tax 16 year olds, and we’ll sentence them to life in prison, but allowing them to vote is off the table?

I would have voted libertarian at 16, if Republicans dropped the social conservatism they would have more popularity among younger voters.

Sure, let even more people without HS diplomas vote, what could possibly go wrong?

    Idiocracy here we come.

Not the people who have to take a day off to vote when they cannot afford to.

I´m really not going to research 50 different States voting codes, and their histories. I do know it was opposed in MD, and by Republicans mainly, It´s become less of issue in recent years

Uh... I think requiring a proof of birth and/or naturalization IS the Registration process. I dunno, I never let it go over 4 years w/o voting but I have changed my party, and each time i had to provide proof of name and address.

The RNC caters to all Americans....but it's true older Americans tend to vote with the RNC largely due to more life experience and knowledge.

I forget which one of them floated that one. It's ridiculous.

There's a lot of ridiculous going on right now. It's the beauty contest portion of our show. It will drag on until the cable tv news crowd and the bloggers start to think we're getting bored with it!

    After that, there's always Trump..........

Interesting how it was older RNC voters who yelled the loudest against the RNC attempt to repeal and not replace Obamacare's pre-existing condition clause. Interesting that the RNC has ditched it's war cry to repeal Obamacare.

If the RNC does not start acknowledging that a whole crop of seniors are just entering retirement who have not been able to save enough to cover medical expenses, then the RNC is going to start having problems with the senior vote.

And yet they voted for someone with no morals, a con man, who lies to them incessantly.

It seems all that "life experience" and "knowledge" adds up to senility and gullibility.

Of course that's not true of all older people, just the ones Trump caters to with his fear tactics, etc.

The Republican National Committee caters to big oil and Wall Street, and has done so since the party was founded (back then it was railroads, iron magnates, and Wall Street).

the RNC never wanted to do away with pre-existing condiction protection. The RNC is still the only party working to ensure Medicare is reformed and exist for seniors

They voted for someone that puts their American interest first. Their only other option was Clinton. The better of the two was who they voted for

remind me again who in the last Presidential election got the most money from Wall Street? It's certainly true that the RNC caters to business and wants businesses to be successful. Those with life experiences understand how important business is.

If McCain hadn't voted down, the pre-existing condition clause would have ended with the rest of Obamacare. That's why McCain voted not to repeal, because it wan't repeal and replace - it was just repeal. So I guess you might say a Republican did support the pre-existng condition clause - by voting AGAINST his fellow Republicans.

The democratic demographic tends to crowd into large cities and not vote as much. Which means they have to win by good margins and put extra effort to get out the vote just to break even. What is scary for Republicans is that they have won the popular vote in 1 out of the last 7 presidential elections. Their base is shrinking.

Republicans have one advantage because the democrats are moving far left into socialism and Republicans can fill a more pragmatic center position.

What McCain voted down didn't include removing pre-existing condictions. Every proposed legislation by the GOP on healthcare included coverage for pre-existing condictions

It proposed to kill the bans on raising coverage costs for pre-existing conditions, which is for all intents just removing pre-existing coverage through price hikes. McCain knew that.

Yeah ... appealing to pioneering industrialists like Carnegie, Rockefeller, and Vanderbuilt as well as financier J P Morgan was just disasterous for the party, and the nation. :roflol: I'd have included Henry Ford, but he joined the democratic party in 1918. So these republican visionaries created the worlds greatest industrialized economy, from scratch and uber-libs aren't ever forgive them for that? Good grief. Fast forward >> Obama's co signs a $535 million start up loan for Solyndra ... :;): catering to green new deal scam artists.
