For different, read (accurately) ethical. As for a rational review of the issues, I have done it and written about my findings at length. The concept seems foreign to repubs, even when confronted by their own sources. For any further reply, read my letters AND FEEL FREE TO CHECK ALL THE SOURCES.

That's merely your rationalizations. I think you spoke the truth with this: "I am a liberal because I DON'T WANT TO BE LIKE YOU."

Well you could say that about any entitlement program that has taxable benefits.

The theme of this series is IT'S ALL ABOUT ETHICS. The justification for my being a liberal is IT'S ALL ABOUT ETHICS.

I think you said what you felt plainly enough. "I am a liberal because I DON'T WANT TO BE LIKE YOU."

I can't speak for all states, but in most, food isn't taxed at all. Unless it is fast food and the like.

    - - - Updated - - -

No, in most states food is not taxed. As one already mentioned, 31 states.

Um, UE checks can buy anything. Food stamps only food. And in most states, food is not taxed.

I don't really care. What I do care about is the fact that our rulers allowed corporations to move to a communist state, in order to exploit the poor over there, and lay off americans, driving up food stamp spending. That is what concerns me. On top of that, we allow these corporations full market access so they become parasites upon America, while giving nothing back.

Lots of these people on food stamps used to be hard working americans. And there will be even more hard working americans that have to take food stamps. This is the way an oligarchy works.

Probably because they tax food? If they were going to tax food stamp recipients, they'd just give em more food stamps to offset the tax increase.

Then that would be wrong. If a food stamp person gets 189 dollars of food stamps, it should be like 189 dollars cash. When I have 189 dollars in cash I can't buy 189 worth of food, I can only buy so much then the rest is tax. Why do food stamp recipients get a free walk in the park and can even avoid paying taxes?

I don't want them paying taxes with my money because that means the taxpayer, the sucker, has to pay more.

If your state is idiotic enough to tax a basic necessity, that is the problem with folks living in the state. SNAP is federally funded. They can make the rules, and I agree, no tax on food.

That's a bit odd. Seems like they'd just pay you less and forget the taxation.

    Here's my idea.

Instead of nickleing and dimeing us to death.

The government should just take all money away from the people and spend it where it wants to.

Nobody cares about the little guy anyway.

    So why not?

Of course it's not fair. Welfare is unfair. We do it anyway, because the alternative is to let those who, due to bad choices or bad luck, cannot manage their own lives come to such desperate straights that they will be a danger to the community.

If you tax the charity you're giving these people, you're not taxing them for receiving it. You would be taxing yourself for providing it.

Most of the time, but not always. Any ways, IMO, they only get done what they have to get done. The rest is all done for show so they can get reelected.
