If Command Economies don't work, why are we trying it with health care.

Virtually everyone here would agree that a top-down, centrally planned command economy is a very bad thing that has never worked.

Yet, we have Obamacare:

Please enlighten me liberals as to why I should be told what kind of services my medical insurance covers? Why can't I just buy the cheapest high deductible catastrophic plan and let that be enough?

I just don't understand where Obama, Sebellius and the Liberal Community think they have the legal authority, or even moral authority, to tell me what services I must buy!!!

Obamacare isn't about just buying insurance. No, that would be bad enough. No, not only are we mandated to buy insurance, we are mandated to buy the most (*)(*)(*)(*)ing expensive insurance possible!

WHERE ARE THE CHOICES?

What if I don't want all the expensive frills that Obama thinks I should have?

 

Problem is the Communist thinking, Obama as a Socialist can only force his will to folks, not try to convince them.As a Dreamer he sincerely believes that all Marxist fairy-tales can really work.

 

Lets see.

Australia - Universal Healthcare. No recession since the early 1990s and has had a government to the left of Obama since 2007. Unemployment under six percent and a dollar worth more than a US Dollar.

United States - No universal healthcare if conservatives have any say. Caused an almost worldwide recession in 2008, an economically right-wing government (by world standards). Unemployment over eight percent and the dollar has been losing value for a long time now.

One of these countries have elected socialist governments (including the first one in the world) and one generally believes socialism is evil.

 

Not believes, but knows the facts about evil of marxism.

 

Lets not forget Augusto Pinochet murdering his citizens in order to save the free market.

 

Just for curiosity. The first Socialist elected in the world? When was that, and I find it a bit strange because in Germany the Socialdemocracy governed even in the XIX Century.

 

I was not aware of that, I recently finished reading a book on Australian Prime Minister which said the government led by Chris Watson was the first Socialist Government to run a nation and the book was generally very factual so I took it as fact.

Labor was elected in Queensland in 1899 and became the Australian Government in 1904. I would also like to say that there is a difference between social democracy and socialism.

The German SPD was founded in 1863 by Lassalle. And in the beginning was illegallized by Bismarck for being revolutionary and anti-monarch.

However I think that you're right that probably the first place of being effectively elected a socialdemocrat party was in Australia. So thanks for the info.

In Germany was really strong the Social Democracy to the end of the XIX Century but not enough strong.

I know and work with people who are Canadians. They KNOW we here in America are being SCAMMED when it comes to healthcare. One of my troops has Canadian parents; they live in Vermont and are MOVING back to Canada soon... main reason: Health Care costs here in America.

One day, Americans will see/define the proper role of the wealthy; rather than looking up to and revering them. Some of the wealthy are GREAT Americans and many are not. This silly notion that making a very FEW wealthy people more wealthy is somehow "good" for America... will eventually die. Maybe then we'll do what is best for the nation as a whole, and not just a few influential, hyper wealthy interests.

 

Because, the thing is many people do not have health care. So they go to the emergency room without paying for it.So my insurance goes through the roof to pay for those who do not have health insurance.

Morevoer, the military uses govt.health care and that is pretty popular with military families and soldiers. Medicare and Medicaid is popular with reicpients.

So once again, you republicans and your washed up, out of date party should keep quiet and let the Dems run the nation. Republicans =fail and always will.

 

To rightwingers and conservatives, anything social is either marxist or communist.
