Birthing person seems to be an objective phrase and in fact sounds exactly like what a socially disconnected scientist would say. Though this suggests the holiday is not for step mothers or adoptive mothers. Though it probably should be. A mom is more about the day to day than whether they birthed you in terms of who to honor.

Initially I couldn't figure out what this has to do with wokeism, here's the relevant phrase for the whole thread: "Some people who give birth are biologically female but live as a male and do not consider themselves a 'mother.' I am the person who gave birth to my children, a simple fact, and choose to be called their mother, but it's not my business if someone chooses another path or uses different language."

To which I agree, use whatever language you want. The government may try to use the most inclusive language possible, but somebody, like adoptive mothers, may still end up excluded. Oh well. Time to think about issues that actually matter.

Is this what conservatives are reduced to? Obsessing over language in the same way they accuse liberals of in order to avoid real issues?

I forgot we have a Pearl Harbor day. How stupid. The day we knew war was imminent but were completely surprised by where we were attacked and then pretended we were backstabbed by a friend to cover the shame of being initially fooled. But boy did the Japanese miscalculate our response. I mean, I guess it's good that delusion drove such fury for victory, but we have no need to continue the delusion.
