Illegal immigrant pizza worker's deportation temporarily blocked by judge's ruling

Yet again the courts are stopping the law being enforced.
An illegal who was ordered out of the US in 2010 ignores the court, stays, gets married and has 2 children. He gets caught. So he will be deported right?, wrong, the judge says he can stay. An attorney for Legal Aid’s Immigration Law Unit called Villavicencio’s stay “a victory for him and his family, and also for due process and the fair administration of justice.”
The attorneys said they will work with Villavicencio to help him secure valid immigration status.
I know it's sanctuary New York but this crap has to be stopped.

The rule of law, not so important to the left.

 

There are many sets of laws Progressives apply in their Future World.

If you're in a group they are pandering to, you get to break many, many laws, with impunity, and in fact encouragement.

If you're in a group they want to eliminate, you will be held accountable to the most minute and obscure laws on the books.

 

This kind of problem is supported by dems and republicans. It is what the oligarchs want for their cheap labor and the dems want the votes. obama told illegal aliens to vote for Hillary. The fight over illegal immigration and border security will be a hard fought battle. This is why it is being saved for later. Accomplish the things that the majority of congress agrees on first. The majority of congress supports illegal immigration.

 

I just can't understand it. As a former cop if I found someone with an outstanding warrant, which I assume has the same legal weight as a deportation order, I hooked them up and put them in the County jail. No asking a judge if it's OK and no attorneys allowed because the case was over and it was only the sentence needed to be carried out, all the appeals and other feet dragging performances were concluded.
Why wasn't he arrested and given his copy of the deportation order as he was put on the bus the same day?

The rule of law is what this is.

Anyone who thinks that a President is above the law, as you have posited here, has no real interest in the rule of law. Trump certainly does not.

 

Guess you are not aware the method to remove a President is impeachment. You know, the rule of law.

 

I am all for illegals being deported. But I am also for this man having a fair chance at staying. If he leaves it creates more welfare handouts for his kids.

If he stays and earns citizenship then he will work and provide.

Actually there is more than one method. The twenty fifth amendment provides a second avenue for exploration. Applying sufficient political pressure to encourage 'self-removal' ie resignation is yet another method. Each of those methods is entirely legal and consistent with the constitution. What's your point beyond that?

I don’t understand the outrage here. Trump is pardoning criminals who’ve been convicted of breaking the law. This guy was just given a little more time to make his case for legal residence. Hypocrisy at its finest?

 

Well, the kids aren't ecuadorian citizens, are they? They were born here.

But the case was concluded 8 years ago, but now he gets to put smiling children in the photo and we get the "You are breaking up families". If he had been deported straight away we wouldn't be in this position.

Their dad is an Ecuadorian citizen so I would imagine his kids would also be. And his wife should get a pass to for being married to an Ecuadorian citizen.

I personally dont get all the outrage. I want illegal immigrants returned home but situations like this there are children involved and they are us citizens.

It's a bit like how heavy handed conservative hypocrisy is in other ways. Yall **** a brick when obama opted to ease up on Cuba but trump is the savior when he does the same for north Korea.

 

We have a kind of affinity for the rule of law. If this dude can't just flaunt our immigration laws and ignore a judge's deportation order........then why not everyone else????

You do realise its the judges that make such decisions, anyone ignoring judges is deeming the rule of law not important.
