I spent last weekend watching the women's professional golf being played in Alabama at Shoal Creek Golf Club. A remarkable woman of 22 from Tailand earned $900,000 taking first place there. The commentators stated the women have improved so much that they are extremely good technically. Ariya Jutanugarn is the golfer capturing the tournament.

Be you man or woman, perhaps you could use some golf tips to make your game better.

I have located a woman golfer that is becoming known as eye candy. But she has some remarkable scores to her credit and played on university teams along with being a professional.

If your game improves, I hope you recall where you got the tips. But the woman earns all the credit.

I've been to one pro-tour female match and it was kind of fun.

I was actually amazed at how bad some of them were.

I mean, way better than me of course but I saw balls flying all over the place, I almost got hit by a drive.

From watching television I thought most were almost always very good.

It also seems they don't hit very far when you watch it for real while on television the ball seems to fly forever.

Paula Creamer comes from a local town I used to live at. My kids attended school there. She has won some of the tours.

Glad you tipped us off on their ability. But frankly at Alabama at the Shoals course, those women at the front of the pack were mostly hitting the ball well.

Oh they are definitely very good, just not as good as I thought they were.

My friend told me once that he had just played a round of golf with an old guy who could barely swing the club, all he used was a wood and a putter.

He basically rolled the ball up the course, nothing fancy, yet he still beat my uncle who spends hours at the driving range and buys the best clubs every year.

I have golfed on a golf course twice. First was in Germany and a pro who was also in the army wanted me to drive us to a golf course and play. I think in his case it was more for practice. Anyway, naturally he beat me so bad I hate to mention it other than it was the first time for me on a golf course. I found using the wood driver to be not my skill set but to forgive myself, I was not taught to use them nor had I any practice. With irons I managed a score of about 122 the way I recall this. A lousy score given he had shot around par.

Second time I was with a neighbor who like me was not very skilled so it did not matter. That game took place in 1964. Other than peewee golf, I have not played since.
