Has anyone noticed the Left has co-opted the discussion about poverty and made it about "inequality" ? As if the two were synonymous. I've noticed many other instances where the Left has tried to insert their own concepts into discussions about important issues, almost trying to make the whole issue about something completely different than it actually is. Why does "inequality" inherently matter so much? As long as everyone has enough money, why do we need to worry about those at the top?
That's because the "poor" in the US have a better standard of living than the upper quintiles of some European countries, like Italy. https://www.forbes.com/sites/timwor...an-most-of-the-rest-of-humanity/#4420ca2654ef
So it's no longer about lifting all boats. Rather, now it's about "there are lots of people worse off in the world". https://b-i.forbesimg.com/timworstall/files/2013/06/EPI3.jpg
It's not our fault we have the best country in the world, despite the left's best attempt to turn us into Haiti. You want us to get involved in those countries? That sounds very "white imperialist" to me. The US has existed for a mere 200 some years. Many of those cultures have existed for thousands of years. Why they so poor bro?
They are NOW Synonymous. Obviously you are living well and dont feel it. Thus, I guess that gives you no right to call it out. We are now living in poverty at 60K a year two people. Inflation at 7% YoY have locked that in, the FED, Powell BS 2% is a lie, flat out lie. People, FED, Govt, can TWIST and Propaganda Data anyway they like and call it real. it isnt ! "As long as everyone has enough money" what the hell does that mean ? What is enough, a living wage to you ? How about a 1 income family that has enough for home, car, insurance, vacations, and college savings for 3 kids. That was the minimum in the 70s. That is the norm for all Americans. Powell is a Putz, so were the other filthy FED chairs.
Now we're not talking about poverty, we're talking about standard of living. Yes, many families might be struggling, but that's not necessarily poverty per se. In some ways they are part of the same argument but there's also an important distinction. Policies aimed at helping one may not necessarily help the other so much.
Liberals and Marxists want us to believe that the people at the top stole it from those at the bottom.
