Interesting stat about the 3.5 trillion dollar budget bill...

I don't care who started it. The government spends too much.

 

Why weren't these programs a big deal when they were spending the money we already paid for infrastructure? This is nothing more than rewarding irresponsibility. Every dollar increase in spending should require $3 in spending cuts.

Increasing taxes tends to be self defeating. Any good economic book will point this out. That is why Tesla is moving their HQ from California to Texas.

I'd like to see a Congressperson lament the fat in the bill, hold up a bill of maybe 100 pages, explain all the pork was removed, and encourage others to get on board. I'd like to see all his or her colleagues rise to their feet in affirmation then pass the bill with a unanimous voice vote. It would go down in Congressional history and warm the cockles of my heart. I know, I know, I'm a hopeless idealist.

Even if Reagan suggested a spending bill to Congress, the Democrat controlled house has to actually draft the bill and vote to approve it. Why would democrats vote to approve a spending bill they didn't agree with and then send to the President for signature?

This is just hyper partisan politics.

 

Because the federal government does such a bang up job in primary education, we should expand the social basis of education all the way up to community college.

Indeed, those precious terms have been replaced with the mad acronym MMT (Magic Money Theory) This is the insane theory that the government can essentially self-fund with money printing presses. Humans have been minting money for 5,000 years and these clowns seriously believe that the are the very first humans to ever think: "Why not just print up a bunch of currency and I can have whatever I want?!""
