The United States of America is the tower of light in our world.
Those who do not think that can go and live in Russia, Africa, Iran, Arab countries or China.
Yes ! America is a democracy.

    OP

Like all Western countries America is an oligarchy dressed up as a democracy, except we've been brainwashed into believing it's the latter. I mean, look at France right now, where ordinary law-abiding tax-paying voters with legitimate concerns and worries are being beaten up and gassed by 'forces of law and order' employed by millionaire elitists?

But get this . . . the salaries of those 'forces of law and order' are being funded, not by the millionaire elitists, but by the very people they're beating up and gassing? FFS you couldn't make up this ****.

'America, right or wrong'? Anyone who really believes it has either been brainwashed from the cradle or is seriously deluded.

You seem to forget the Senate has a (bigger) GOP majority than before the election. Unless some MASSIVE INDISPUTABLE crime comes to light regarding DT, they will not vote to remove. You're stuck with him until at least 2020, and I predict 2024. As it stands, the dems don't have any "superstar" who will shine bright enough to beat him. That could change, of course, 2 years is a long time, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well, in another thread, apparently half of USA adults have an immediate family member currently
incarcerated or previously incarcerated...yep...tower of light in our world

For the most part, Dems want a direct democracy. They failed civics, and don't understand the purpose of the EC or the Senate. But the hurdles required to change either of those (not one, but two separate Constitutional amendments) render their hopes all but impossible. Do you really think you're gonna get 2/3rds of the Senate to vote to essentially eliminate their jobs? Or 3/4ths of the States, especially the relatively small ones to do the same? Nope, simply is not happening.

We are a republic that employs representative democracy. Our government doesn't do what you want. That is true of most of us. Sorry.

Yes, there is full-blown brainwashing and then there is the baked-in version.

A two party system gives the citizenry the illusion of a Democracy while holding the population dumbed down believing that all of their woes are the fault of Democrats or Republicans. No thought is necessary. Understanding is not necessary. Political savvy is unnecessary. It's like putting your feet together knowing from that stance you can do the twist, the Walz, the cha-cha, whatever. You're stuck with it. Those who think they are smart do the steps calling Democrats the right and Republicans the left but it's still the same 2-choice dilemma. Some even call them extreme right and extreme left but as there are only two parties the 'extreme' part has no real meaning because there are no viable parties to fill in the gaps between the two. You can even add Liberal and Conservative but they are assigned to the same two choice system. No difference. On and on making no progress, getting nowhere. "It's the fault of the Dems!" "It's the fault of the Reps!" :blahblah:

It's all brainwash and delusion and not very Democratic at all.

    Are you being facetious here?

The Nine Nations is a serious book btw, but it is, despite ifs title, about regions and regionalism not nations. (one of its "nations" is a lozenge shape that includes Miami, and the Cocaine growing part of Colombia, with an income greater than many ot the other's combined)

America is unique among the world's nations is that we are a REFUGE, a place where people from elsewhere may come and prosper. It is our origin and our strength and the reason why we are now the leader of the entire world.

But I'm just fine with that. I have no problem at all with Trump serving out his term. As a matter of fact I have stated in a previous comment that I prefer that over any impeachment attempts. Once his term has been completed, he'll walk out into public life only to be met with numerous felony indictments and that's perfect because that will put him behind bars for the rest of his life. That's what I call 'just desserts' being served.

It is not UNIQUE. I presume you do not know what the term means.

"Leader of the entire world"? Leader of WHAT ... disinformation? You are just making this up as you go along.

The United States is the most economically prosperous and militarily powerful entity that has ever existed, without question

    http://statisticstimes.com/economy/countries-by-gdp-sector-composition.php

    https://improb.com/top-powerful-countries-in-the-world/

We are unique because there is no other nation in the world that has been so consistently welcoming of so many refugees for such a long time. The fact that we are not that way now is an aberration. Such aberrations have happened before in our history and have always been corrected shortly.

What is your Problem ? I havn't even talked about Trump !? The topic is the MSM. Where are you getting this silly nonsense from. I hate Trump ... I rail against the guy on a near daily basis. I can give you a litany of reasons - far bigger and more coherent than yours - on why Trump is a clown. You are preaching to the choir but telling them they are worshipers of Satan. What is your deal ?

Almost everything in my previous post supports what you are saying.

You didn't answer my question or qualify your own statement: What is the U.S. "the leader of the entire world" in?
This is a lie. My own country has taken in more refugees IN A SINGLE TOWN than the whole U.S.

History books. And it's not a law. It's a fact. The founding fathers never
called the USA a democracy. In fact, they purposely created a representative
republic. That's why it's not a fairy tale.

Trump is trying to change the educational system but getting a lot of negativity from Leftists, Unions, and even many students who, unknowingly, are victims of the system.

These are platitudes coming from the king of Platitude. Regardless - even if Trump did try to change the education system - it would not be in a way that mandates education in civics (the founding principles and so on) and the basics of Philosophy (logic, logical fallacy, what constitutes a valid argument).

This would go against Trumps root ideology = Social Darwinism.

And many other democracies use similar systems, with different terms, to also avoid 'The Tyranny of the Majority'.

Platitudes? You don't seem to know what the word means. He has complained about the system in many areas but, as you may have noticed, is not getting much union or left wing support. Do you agree?
