Will, I gave you a justification in the post you quoted.

Shouting and pounding your shoe on the table does not make it go away.

The world is filled with many more options than you are able to perceive, apparently.

Sorry, but No, you have not shown that there is any justification for what Trump said at Helsinki.

He stated flat out that he believes Putin over and above every one of our intel arms combined.

And, that is consistent with his failure to make one single move to oppose the Russian attack on our democracy.

Actions speak. He can't just say he didn't mean it.

(There is at least one other such leader. Viktor Orban.)

Perhaps I can explain the oddity. At least, I don't see it as odd from my perspective.

The major world dynamic before the fall of the Berlin Wall was communism v. capitalism. Capitalism won and communism decisively defeated not, it is hoped, ever to raise its ugly head again. The US was the only super power.

Capitalism dominated (and still dominates) the world. It totally controls the governments of what we used to call the Free World and, thanks to Deng Xiao Ping is a rather large factor in the PRC.

The "moderates" of both the Republican and Democrat parties are beholden to these Global Capitalists as are all of the "moderate" parties in Western Europe.

These Global Capitalists view Russia as the next important country to gobble up to gain access to resources and markets.

But the triumph of Global Capitalism led to increasing wealth inequality and the disappearance of the middle class and also the explosion of migration. And so populist and nationalistic forces were unleashed which led to the election of Trump and the increasing popularity of right wing parties in Europe. These populist movements are anathema to the leaders of the EU and are a grave threat to the EU in particular and Global Capitalism in general.

Trump is the leader of the populist/nationalist movement and so is (1) critical of the EU and (2) a natural ally of the target of Global Capitalism, Russia.

    That's certainly what Chamberlain said.

I mean, why worry about Russia attacking our democracy?

Why worry about Russian troop advances in Eastern Europe?

Why worry about Russian support for Syria's Assad and for Iran?

So far, Trump hasn't made even ONE MOVE to defend our democracy.

Why? I know you could be right and that Putin could become best buds some time in the future, because some idiot president kissed his ASS.

But, does that REALLY mean that we should make no defensive moves within the US to shore up our democracy when we KNOW FOR CERTAIN that it has been attacked by a foreign country?

    Not at all.

Sure. Stop treating Russia as an enemy and they will become less hostile.

Raising your voice does not enhance your argument. Not that you've actually made an argument.

Correct. We have whom we have directly because of the choices, actions, decisions made by both political major parties back in 2016. No, ifs, ands or buts about it. You guys made your decisions, live with it like the rest of us have to do, take responsibility for it and try to make the best of it.

Trump could have been easily avoided if that is what the democrats wanted. Apparently they didn't. They nominated the only Democrat that could have possibly lost to Trump. Their problem then, America's problem now. That's what happens when you choose your nominee four years in advance and fail to listen to the American people. Back in Feb 2016 a poll showed that 56% of all Americans wanted the democrats to nominate someone other than clinton. You guys didn't listen to America as a whole. Your right, no doubt about that. So ignore Americas wants and wishes, then stuff like Trump happens.

Question, do you think Russian interference had more to do with Hillary's loss or her laziness of not working or campaigning hard or even coming close to the energy, time that Trump put in.

Look at Wisconsin, Trump five visits/stops, Hillary none, zero. Does that look like Hillary care one iota for the people of Wisconsin?

Michigan, Trump six visits/stops, Hillary one. Pennsylvania, 8 for Trump, 5 for Clinton. At least she made some appearances in those states. But one in Michigan? Did she take both Wisconsin and Michigan for granted? Did she care?

I personally think if Hillary had come close to matching Trump in Michigan and Wisconsin, she would have won those states fairly easily. Pennsylvania, I'm no so sure.

I think letting Trump outwork and out campaign her by that 116-71 margin had much more effect on the outcome than any Russian interference. Did Hillary think she could sit at home, do nothing and win? Apparently she did.

So be subservient and putin will be a nice boy. Putin has trump right where he wants him...he even said he wanted trump to win and we see why. Narcissistic and not too bright make it easy to manipulate. Tru,p showed the world how weak he is...and a pathological liar and his base believes him. ...even though he knew about the Russian interference in our election and just yells fake news ...even when there is documented proof.

That's the most absurd idea I've seen proposed.

Russian sees much of eastern Europe as rightfully part of Russia. Russia has other serious regional objectives that are in serious world wide conflict.

The idea taht Russia will give up on those objectives because the US president is a patsy can NOT be taken seriously.

It's not me that wants war, it was the poster I replied to that does. Better get your ducks in order. Besides I did two years in Vietnam and two more in Laos. My grandson two tours in Afghanistan. That's one reason I am adamant for a declaration of war from congress before any more wars occur. No more resolutions from congress or the UN, but a war declaration from congress.

You better direct your tirades against the one who wants war, not me.

Trump knew Russia attacked our presidential election before he was sworn in.

So far, Republicans have worked hard to block every move toward defending our nation from Russia.

Trump hasn't even directed the executive branch to take action on this attack.

For over a year now it has been clear that we aren't going to get Republicans to defend America against Russia.

Another one who won't admit being outworked and out campaigned by 116-71 had nothing to do with Hillary loss. They didn't make Hillary look bad, she did that herself. Way back in February of 2016 a poll showed 56% of all Americans wanted the democrats to nominate someone other than Hillary. Of course as usual, the democrats ignored America as a whole which was their right. Then they nominated someone as disliked by America as a whole as Trump was and someone who was lazy as can be also.

But let's blame it on the Russians. If Hillary had got out and campaigned a bit harder, cut Trump's campaign visits/stops lead from 116-71 to say 116-100, she would be sitting in the Oval Office today. Laziness done her in. Do you think a Biden or even Sanders or O'Malley would have let their presidential election opponent out campaign and out work them as much as Hillary did? Of course not.

So too did Obama. He quashed any investigation and response to it.

Not only is that untrue but when Obama did act (Warning to Putin and campaigns) the details were still coming in....we now have them and Trump calls them "Fake News" while kissing the Putin ring. There was no
    official investigation to squash yet.
