I read most of an exceptionally intelligent blog yesterday evening and I woke up this morning with a theory that could answer a lot of the confusion regarding the ability of a percentage of us to see the future...... could it be that the prophets who get it wrong often have seen A possible but not definite FUTURE.... as opposed to The future...... .could they even have been shown a future that already took place and could happen again if we do not make BETTER CHOICES?????? THE POWER IN HUMAN CHOICE...... may be what makes the subject of PROPHECY so confusing and controversial? Prophecies can come from God if a person is a truly saintly person or it can come from a witch or warlock. Yes, Satan does spit out prophecies - sometimes it can be through a deceptive dream, that's why people have to be careful no matter how devout they are, and sometimes through a possessed person. Nostradamus was a warlock and Mother Shipton was a witch. The prophecies from warlocks and witches will be accurate in some things, but not in everything. The prophecies from Saints are accurate if they all say the same thing, but the intent is usually for people to repent so they won't come true. There are though prophecies of future events from God that have nothing to do with repentance. Some prophecies I have come across I think are meant to give people hope for the future when everything seems the darkest. A person can usually tell if a prophecy is from God by what is being mentioned. Prophecies are though prone to interpretation, and sometimes the translation will be off. One of the most accurate prophecies is that of Mitar Tarabich the Serbian prophet. You can tell it's from God by what he writes. In Tarabichs prophecy the only place that will be safe in the future will be the mountains with 3 Crosses which would be the monasteries, yet the interpretations are crazy. They mention the most ridiculous things. Another part that is interesting is when he said that a country will grow around Serbia and keep getting bigger - which is really a reference to the EU - yet that again seems to be misunderstood. I find this part of the prophecy the most interesting since it reflects the 'hubris' of the elite who only think in terms of economics and profit, and believe that they know what's best for the world. Humans do not create prophecy. There are too many examples that prove otherwise. Prophecy is usually meant as a warning to people of what will happen if they do not repent. They were never meant to be self fulfilled - which many people try to do. Also, only Saints or highly enlightened people can interpret prophecies correctly. A perfect example are the prophecies given at Fatima in Portugal. According to one prophecy, they should pray for Russia's conversion or they will spread it's errors throughout the world. Because of it, many Catholics ran into Russia when the USSR collapsed and began proselytizing - thinking that by conversion, it meant that Russia should go under the Pope. It was faulty reasoning, since at the time of the prophecy Russia was under Lenin and had become an atheist state. By conversion, what the prophecy meant was for Russia to return to Christianity - which it has.
My wife would be termed Charismatic / Pentecostal..... she was raised Roman Catholic but has been attending Charismatic or Pentecostal meetings since around 1993..... True Prophecy, seering and revelating comes from the Lord through the Power of the Holy Ghost and the Godhead never makes a mistake. Prophets never lead us astray. Humans stray from prophecy through their unbelief. Here is a tip. We have the ability to receive prophecy for ourselves and our families we are to lead. We are not over anyone else nor the country nor the Church nor the world. That is left for the one and only Prophet today, Russel M. Nelson. That's it.
Now I am biased.... I do believe that he was prophesying for Messiah Yeshua - Jesus but..... Jesus prophecies our perfect future.... depending on our making good choices...... not our rather negative future that we are free to embark on by making the wrong choices.
