How many of those will be sent back in someone else's name? How many will not be accepted because the names didn't match. Amazing you are trying a simple dismissal of such BLARING mistake and problem they have created even DeBlasio was calling for a drastic change to the election commission for allowing this to happen and the problems it is causing.
Could it be that Americans are so close to the root problem here that they're not seeing it? Why do you even to specify party affiliation when you register to vote in the first place? Primaries shouldn't be the responsibility of the state at all. It should be up to the individual political parties to determine who their candidates are so they should be responsible for deciding and managing whatever system is used to determine that (as happens in pretty much every other electoral system around the world). The state electoral systems should only be concerned about actual elections to office and for that they'd have no need to ask or record any party affiliation. This could have a added bonus of chipping away a little at the ingrained two-party structure too.
They turned California voting into top two which gives 3rd parties no chance of making it to the general election. Often we get two democrats to choose from.
I don't' know about the D or R but I will check for that. But this is why no matter which party, you have to hand deliver your ballots, but I strongly suggest that if there is an R on that ballot you MUST hand deliver if you want it counted.
