I don't know. But this site seems to give quite a lot of people a place to vent and spew their political propaganda. Having an outlet like this where no one is harmed is probably a good thing. Then there has been times I learned something new or a different approach to a subject I never thought of.

I'd say thinking about it, this site doesn't make America better per se. But it certainly doesn't hurt it either. It can be interesting and entertaining and is a good way to pass some time.

Not sure. I think maybe going into one’s community and helping a neighbor might do more for America than the best post of any day. Don’t get me wrong, I think this forum is a worthwhile community bulletin board for an idea exchange but in the real world I value action over conversation.

What something is to you is irrelevant.
What is reality is what matters.
Reality is both parties more or less suck at the moment.

We need to get over these polarizing issues and work together on things we agree on instead of just trying to piss off the other half of the country.

There isn't much we agree on anymore. We don't even agree on what America is or should be.

As for the forum itself, no, it doesn't make America better, but it's a good example of what America is, a platform for free speech.

Yes because we have a largely civilized discourse and all sides are represented.

The staff are responsible for ensuring that there is civilized discourse which means they should be given the appropriate credit. Furthermore it is because they are evenhanded when it comes to moderating that we have all sides represented.

The benefits of this forum outweigh any potential negatives IMO.

The freedom to express our opinions and to debate them is something that the Founding Fathers envisioned when they spoke about an informed electorate.

What makes this forum better than most is that it allows input from outside America which enables us to understand how others perceive us. This means that only is it possible to have people from all parts of our nation represented but also to have representatives from different forms of government other than our own. This makes comparisons more meaningful.

If one is an isolationist then they would not see this as an advantage but while they are entitled to their opinions they have to deal with the reality that we now live in a global community where one nation's pollution ends up affecting the people of other nations.

So yes, there is a benefit to America to have this forum IMO.

Of course it is a benefit. If I can change the thinking of even one person, that'll do me. Mind you, some here take great umbrage that non Americans get to have a say.

I voted no. This website doesn't change any perspectives. The result would be neutral except that this website gives voice to a lot of racists who otherwise wouldn't be heard. So on the whole the website does more harm than good.

There is no intentional malfeasance on the part of the person who owns it or the moderators. They are good people who are just along for the ride like the rest of us.

Because the Conservatives in the country have been dressing up in costumes of female genitalia and crying over a lost election. The only adults in the room since the election have been the Conservatives/Republicans. Frankly, not sure how you can excuse all the violence, fake hate crimes and just plain whining/crying from the liberals.

It's just one site of the many millions where people can just rant their opinion, to get it off their chest to feel better.

    I voted "Yes".

I've been a member on this forum for almost 11 years... and during that time I've had my teeth kicked down my throat, but I've also learned a great deal. I think it is therapeutic for people to share ideas, grievances, and suggestions anonymously. It's impossible to say whether it's really done any "good", per se, but as an old saying goes, "Communication is the beginning of Understanding"....

It is when things get deathly silent that you need to worry. That's when really BAD things are most likely to start to happen....

It won't matter who replaces Trump, the next round of violence and division is only going to be worse than this one. If the left loses, they will become even more unhinged and violent. If the right loses, they will fight back against the liberal destruction of this country. I'm beginning to agree with the YouTubers, civil war is almost inevitable at this point. We no longer share the same values. The right wants a white-majority capitalist nation. The left wants a brown-majority socialist nation. We can't both have what we want and keep the same American borders.

You mean the current President of the United States who withstood a coup attempt by the Democrats?

I think most Americans know what you deny. Bill Barr is on it. Hopefully soon, the indictments start and Democrats start serving real prison time

LOL. Please make it well known when that happens. Meanwhile, we'll just assume it's like pizzagate or a nothingburger.
As I said, conspiracy theory BS and the baby chief in oval office is playing it to his base.
