The 9/11 attacks, as every terrorist knows, were intended to and succeeded in luring us into war—just as bin Laden hoped it would. I don't think so. They blew up two of our embassies in Africa and almost sunk a U.S. warship and we did nothing. I think they figured they could pull off 9/11 and get away with it as no one would do anything or could really prove who did it and they figured they could bring the government to it's knees by hitting it's financial center and also take out its high military command and government. We know the one plane that crashed because the passengers tried to take it over was going after Congress or the Whitehouse. I don't believe for a minute they thought their forces could beat ours.
