No idea, just saw the headline but anyone who supports or is in that regime, is an ally of it, defends it, etc is a legitimate target in my book.

The mistake was targeting iran; as bad as saddam was, he was contained with the no-fly zones - but iran was clearly to benefit if iraq was devastated, which is what happened.

The bottom line is that as long as the iranian regime exists, there will be permanent war and terrorism across the mideast. This fact was lost on total morons like obama, who were too weak and driven by his lunatic leftist agenda to properly and strongly deal with the iranians in the only language the regime understands, violence.

Not just that but it's going to make the Iranian government more aggressive and may well end up costing American lives

That attitude is why the mullahs gained power in Iran in the first place, and the major thing that keeps them in power today

What keeps the regime in power is events like 2009 or in syria today, where the regime will slaughter as many people as it takes to retain power.

syria was over 85% sunni, so there was no way on earth in a free and fair election a shia-aligned alawite like assad would have EVER been elected president. It would be like Israeli jews voting for arafat to be their PM and would never have happened, but iran has a terrorist/war agenda and nothing will stand in its way - especially something like democracy.

I have said for YEARS that the only way to rid the world of the cancerous regime of iran is an external military attack by other countries, and that is becoming more and more likely every day, which when it happens and the world is rid of the iranian regime, few will cheer as loudly as the Evin gulag prisoners and the bulk of the iranian public.

I'm PRAYING iran's fake regime becomes even more aggressive and stops hiding behind terrorist proxies - nothing would make me happier. Any such moves by iran would make it even MORE likely the West and its neighbors - who have suffered for years under its terrorism - would support and engage a war to remove that regime and destroy all of its components, like the removal and cleansing of the nazi regime and all of its vestiges in 1945 forward.

The only questions I have is:

    1) given the syrian war, how come ISIS waited so long to strike in teheran? iran and ISIS are allegedly "mortal enemies" - yet ISIS has struck practically everywhere BUT iran.

    2) why such a small scale attack? Why not a truck bomb or something huge?

This leads me to believe that ISIS and iran might be partners, where iran is using them like assad is - who buys oil from them, for instance - as convenient foils.

No, KSA (Saudi Arabia) is our friend. You don't want any terror attacks in their country as well, do you?
Yes, yes, I know Iran is one of 3 nations on the State Department list of state sponsored terrorism but what they spend pales in comparison to what the most virulent Sunni nations are spending (privately, through their citizens). For example, the two most dangerous organizations in the world, ISIS & Al Qeada - both virulent Sunni groups, are not funded by Shia Iran - they are funded by Sunni nations, headed up by KSA. KSA is actually the big cheese of terrorist funding - just not "officially".

No, I claim that memories are conveniently short. You, America, along with British collusion, ensured that Iran got a vicious dictator installed by the CIA, in place of their legitimately elected democratic government. The Islamic Revolution occurred as a consequence of years of murder, torture and disappearances carried out by the CIA-trained SAVAK secret police, and all with the tacit approval of the West.
It was the appalling stupidity of this fit of outraged pique-all done because Iran had the effrontery to want to nationalize her own oil industry-which has led to 70 years of animosity. We did that, so quit whining about the problems you brought upon yourselves. The CIA have a word for it; 'blowback'.
I'll be interested in hearing where you believe I am mistaken in this.

While terrorist attacks have become relatively commonplace in Europe and in most of the Middle East, Iran had remained comparatively safe. During May’s election campaign, President Hassan Rouhani often pointed to that fact, lauding the country’s security forces and intelligence agencies for their vigilance."

    =============================

What a joke, thanking their "security forces and intelligence agencies for their vigilance". iran hadn't been attacked because it was partners with ISIS - but now that it is nearing open warfare with KSA and others, the gloves are finally coming off.

First off, the US had a tiny role - the coup was performed by IRANIANS. Second, russia has done FAR worse to FAR more countries, yet those countries don't spend the next 75 years harping on it, and using it as an excuse for endless terrorism against russia. Third, go ask the iranian women whether they were more free under the shah or the current fascist, fake regime.

Sorry charlie, but after a while, the capital for an event 75 years ago doesn't work any more. The US can't invade Britain for burning down the white house in 1812, at a certain point, a country has to grow up.

    ------------------------------------------

And while you claim to be agains terrorism, yet you refuse to condemn terrorism against Israelis, why is that?

And who financed that coup? America. Quit deflecting; the CIA released unclassified documents regarding Operation Ajax years ago, so all the information confirming the CIA's role is in the public domain.
As far as Israel is concerned the Palestinians, under international law, may legitimately resist occupation by a Belligerent Occupier (that's a legal term). Furthermore a country which permits its military to commit war crimes (using civilians as human shields), has no moral authority whatsoever. I believe your military even went to court to appeal against a ban imposed by the Israeli High Court on using human shields! We hanged Nazis at Nuremberg for committing the same crimes.

That's nearly exactly what the CIA thought when they overthrew Mossadegh in 1955, and that's why we have the Mullahs there today. The Iranian people, (NOT their present leaders) were and still are among the most forward looking and modernized people in the Islamic world, but their history shows they will resist outside interference in their affairs more mightily than nearly anything else.

If we could somehow bring ourselves to leave them ALONE for just a little while their own dissident factions would overthrow their present leaders once it became clear that the West really wasn't out to get them. Go to war with them however and you will see a Vietnam with tanks, not a pretty prospect.

You claimed you were against terrorism in all cases, yet you refuse to condemn it against Israelis.

This thread is about iran and terrorism, which closely affects Israel and its neighbors. Are you under the impression your deflecting is improving your credibility?

The result of what the CIA did is not the monstrosity that became the regime; otherwise all of eastern europe - who was subjugated FAR worse by the russians than anything the shah did - would have become monstrous dictatorships, and not democracies.

The US has "left iran alone" - even ran intereference for and helped them - for eight years of the obama presidency.

The regime slaughtered people in 2009 to retain power, it will NEVER allow a peaceful uprising to take over and remove it, stop deluding yourself - you know nothing about the nature of the regime.
