From a cursory look at this forum it is apparent that Islamophobia is apparent here. Since, some members want to equate gun control with Shariah, let's take a look at crime stats in the developed world in westernized countries vs developed countries with some sort of Shariah law.

Staggering low crime rates in countries with some form of Shariah laws. Wow, that is indeed to be feared.

First of all those countries are a fraction of the size we are. Second, are you saying Sharia law is a good thing? If so you need to leave the US and go live in Iran or SA.

I find Shariah law to be an archaic and often brutal 'law'- and I am very glad our Constitution protects us from any implementation here.

I think there is a very reasonable basis to be scared of Islamic extremists who want to harm us.

But it isn't reasonable to fear all Muslims because of Islamic extremists.

Saudi Arabia has a population 1/10th that of US but US has a crime rate of almost 2,000 times that of the US.

No I am saying that there are some good aspects of Shariah law and its not the bogeyman everyone tries to make it.

The interpretation of Shariah law of a majority of Muslims is not something to be afraid of. Yes extremists are the problem as they are everywhere else.

There are many laws in US that could only be described as archaic and brutal. Torture is legally being used. Do I need to say electric chair?

We could live with total bans on alcohol, drugs in a totalitarian police state with penalties ranging from street justice killings, beheadings, chopping off limbs and hanging gays. That would reduce crime as well, do you really want it? He who gives up freedom for safety deserves neither. ... Benjamin Franklin

Sharia is barbaric and oppressive for women, gays and non muslims. Clearly a majority of Muslims want it looking at Egypt and the likes, its as much a part of Islam as praying.

With the paucity of replies to this thread conspicuous by their absence, I can only conclude that the Islamophobes here either haven't got a clue why they are Islamophobic, or they're simply dumb racists who see a brown person and sh1t themselves because, naturally, he must be a 'stealth jihadist' (translation; I can't see it happening but I just 'know' it is, so I came up with a neat phrase to describe what isn't happening).

    what do these figures mean?
you would have to compare per capita crime rates - the population of Qatar for example is about half a million, while the US is about 300 million. of course there will be more crime.

you also don't provide any information on what is included as a crime, or whether the same type of data is collected ....

Comparing crime rates between countries with very different governments, laws, enforcement, and cultures is an exercise in futility. It is impossible to do accurately in any meaningful way.

However, I do agree with your overall point, that fearing Islam or the vast majority of Muslims is wrong. I believe the reason they fear it so much is because for the first time since Christianity became political when Constantine made it the official religion of Rome, another religion is strong enough, popular enough, and big enough to challenge their long-held dominance.

They fear for the loss of their power. That is all.

this is the first foolish post you 've made in a very long time. you know that most Christians oppose Sharia law for the same reason that competent atheists do. it suppresses liberty.

Context is everything. I was referring to Islam and Muslims in general, not Sharia.

ah. did you see that the opened inserted the "value" of sharia law? I'm quite sure that even Islamophobia is related to sharia law.

What gets recorded as a crime in the U.S. or Britain (domestic abuse) isn't a crime under Sharia. Do you think that maybe that has something to do with the differences?

Me and saintmichaeldefend them are afraid of Brits telling us things like "HAPPY christmas" instead of "MERRY Christmas" and we know it's due to the fact that Britain is overrun by Islamo fascists.

Well, I'm not an Islamophobe. I'm more of a live and let live type. However, Shariah law is antiquated and barbaric which has no place amongst free people.

I have read probably as many or more books and papers on Islamization and Muslim terrorism as anyone in this forum, written by the foremost authors in protectionism against Islamic jihad (both stealth and violent), and I can hardly recall anyone saying that it's necessary "to fear all Muslims". About the only time we hear these words is from Islamapologists who seem to want to paint protectionists this way, so as to silence them.

As Robert Spencer, eloquently and accurately describes in his highly informative book Stealth Jihad, "silencing the critics" (the title of the book's 3rd chapter) is a critical part of the Islamapologist syllabus. A variety of standard tactics are employed, and show up in this forum repeatedly, with the "don't fear all Muslims" straw man being quite prominent among them. This is seen almost as much as the ludicrous invalidation card (which my mention of Robert Spencer will probably bring Islamapologists to respond here, foaming at the mouth) which similarly is used to try to silence the critics.

It is reasonable to fear Islamic extremists who want to harm us (both with violent jihad and stealth jihad), and fearing all Muslims or not has nothing really to do with it.

Robert Spencer is a complete fraud and a laughing stock among the thousands of Americans who have lived and worked in the ME since 1940.

Muslim hating is big business in the USA.. and Spencer jumped on the gravy train... What else could he do for a living? Maybe he could be a mall rent-a-cop.

Well, in response, first let me say HA HA HA HA HA !!!

The fact is, the countries listed here as "Countries that Attempt to have some form of Sharia law" DON"T HAVE ANY CRIME RATES. And why might that be? It is precisely BECAUSE they have Sharia law, that that don't have a crime rate (certainly not what we in the West define as a crime rate), because their Sharia laws so skew the process of REPORTING crime, that much (if not most) of it never gets reported.

In those countries, women know that because of Sharia law (stacked heavily against them), it doesn't do any good to report crimes against them. Does a woman want to report a rape ? If she does, she will be regarded the instigator and the perpetrator, not the man who raped her. Does a wife want to report that her husband beat her to a pulp ? The Koran says that's OK. Does anybody want to report an instance of pedophilia ? The Koran is OK with that too (the age of consent in Saudi Arabia is BIRTH). How about slavery ? Koran says that one's OK too. Honor killings ? The killer is regarded a hero.

Well, how do you get a high crime rate when the worst crimes imaginable ARE NOT CONSIDERED CRIMES ? These so-called "low crime rates" are a perfect indicator of the enormity of crime in Sharia law countries, and how our crime rates in Western countries skyrockets when these lawless savages more here, and infect us with their criminal, lunatic culture.

Saintmichaeldefendthem, a poster here had a post on here yesterday complaining that Brits say to us Happy Christmas instead of Merry Christmas. the mods later deleted the thread because it was too idiotic. I was just trying to be funny by joining his idiocy.
