Judging from past history, if it goes south, Syria is on the losing stick.

As if Syria doesn't have enough problems, they provoke a nation with 10x the military power.

Muslims just aren't good on strategic issues.

I don’t believe it. Another made up excuse for Israel to attack militarily. Israel lies, that’s fact.

Do you have evidence that they're lying in this case?

I have no doubt that Israel's air defenses are finely tuned to respond to any enemy military aerial incursion across its borders. Hell it only takes a couple minutes to fly from one end of the country to the other. Its defense has to be a trip wire. Stupid syrian pilot tripped it.

No one knows if the Syrian jet was within Israel's border, since Israel does lie, and one of them is that they had notified Russia before shooting down the jet. I doubt they did, unless they just asked them if the plane was Russian before shooting it down. One thing is certain, and that is by shooting it down they were supporting ISIS - who killed 30 yesterday in a terrorist attack.

What's Israel's game? Are they trying to pressure Assad to get rid of the Iranians by helping ISIS? They know Assad can't do that as long as ISIS is there, and everyone else for that matter. Russia is in a spot here. I mean it can't go against Israel, then it would be supporting Iran, and if it went against Iran, it would lose its support in Syria, Iraq and Turkey.

Anyway I'm just guessing here, because no one really knows what's going on. Israel did give an alleged photo of the downed jet surrounded by ISIS fighters - which is interesting, and incriminating.

The situation does not look good.

This is a good example of the rhetoric that has been coming out of hyper partisans now days. From my personal experience, it only used to be hyper active college students who didn't have the patience, time or energy to actually look into events and just used what they have been told to "brand" a person, situation or in this case country, as they see fit.

    "I don't like it, so I don't believe it"

Has been the basic moniker that is going on in politics for a while now and is in my opinion the single greatest reason for so much hatred and division in the country.

Not exactly in this case. I’m a big skeptic with everything.

I realize that’s the case, but it’s not why I said it.

Israel effectively controls their own narrative over there. Literally no one else gets a fair shake, or their sides told. And with stories like in Syria, where the international community finally backs down off your case,, who in their right mind would provoke a military force vastly superior to yours? It makes no sense, just like the chemical attacks were insultingly false. Yes they happened, but only an idiot would believe Assad did it. It made no sense.

Same with this case, so now the narrative is Israel has every right to pre-emptively attack a regime that has spent over 6 years trying to stay in power despite enormous international influence to overthrow them. Either a rogue plane, or it flat out doesn’t make any sense. Not even an insane dictator would invite such a thing, and to believe such a thing again, is idiocy. But there’s plenty of idiots that believe all sorts of fairy-tales about life on this rock.

I don’t believe Israel because they lie, and we don’t hear the other side of the story. Sorry, there’s always two sides. And evil does not exist in this world, only different perspectives.

    They believe in real borders.:applause:

If you don't believe the survey and lines where Israel has placed its borders then you have wage war on them and FORCE them to change their borders. IF you can.

They are recognized, but not where Israel claims they should be at.

Not sure why Syria would be flying a plane close to Israeli territory. I doubt the intent was to provoke Israel. It is not like Syria wants their planes to be shot down. Perhaps there was some terrorist group operating in the region.

The idea that the Syrian Jet was in Israeli airspace is rather far fetched.

Regardless - Israel is desperate to keep the conflict in Syria going. It is losing that battle but, they will still try.

Meaning that you do not think the Gaza Strip and the West Bank should belong to Israel?

Russia thanked Israel for stopping a major provocation, by bombing the same ISIS positions that the Syrian jet was going to attack before it was shot down. Some think the Israeli's were tricked into bombing ISIS thinking they were actually Syrians or Hezbollah - but I don't think so? Russia is not fooled so easily. Also if ISIS was planning on sending missiles into Israel so as to blame Syria, then of course Israel would destroy them.

"The command of the Russian Armed Forces in Syria used the existing channels of communication to thank the IDF leadership for killing terrorists and stopping a major provocation,” the ministry said in a statement. The Russian military said ISIS attempted on Wednesday to call in an Israeli attack on the positions of the Syrian army, launching missiles at Israel.

“A precision strike by jets and IDF artillery has operationally destroyed ISIS terrorists and their missile launchers,” the Russian ministry said.

Actually did any anti Israel people actually bother to read the OPs article? I'm guessing not. Where the plane was shot down was within a zone created as a no fly area via the 1976 cease fire agreement or some such. IE a long arse time. No one from Syria is even disputing where the plane was shot down out of bounds either? Someone either the people providing this pilot with his flight path and targets screwed up or the pilot screwed up or... Someone in Syria did it intentionally to see if Israel would shoot it down. No stretch of any imagination puts this back on Israel.

    Zzzzzz
